SFPD Motorcycle Training Class.

I took the Alameda sheriff’s course and had a blast. I highly recommend it. I sprang for onec of the old cop bikes they had. Mine was an ex Beverly Hills Kawasaki. At our lunch break, the instructors left to get their lunch and I thought to myself, why not try riding through the W cones. Made it through the first time. Then I went through going the opposite direction, acing it each time. When the officers came back they weren’t happy that I was riding on my own but they mellowed after they saw my amazing skills. Well worth the money.
I took it years ago, and it was great. My only complaint as about the KZ1000 I rented (other than the heel/toe shifters that keep the riders boots shiny but took some getting used to), it leaked oil like a sieve, so when we were waiting in line for the emergency braking practice it was smoking so badly that I started to feel sick. Not surprising I suppose for a bike that old that is only still around so that we could drop it repeatedly while failing to make U-turns. I've been thinking about taking it again, since it's been ages, but if I can do something similar in SF, that's amazing. Thanks for the heads up!

Yea, no longer offered. Unfortunately.

The Kawasaki I rode was an old bike from the Beverley Hills PD. It had nice FIAM’s installed. It also had a very mushy front brake though it stopped well in the emergency braking exercise.
