Shark Helmets?

I've always had Shoei, AGV and Suomy (my favorite). Well, I like my X-Lite (Nolan) as well. All were either made in Japan or Italy. I'm looking at helmets from Shark and hope that some of you can share your personal opinions/experience from owenership - fit/finish/comfort/overall quality/etc. Where are Shark helmets made?

Thanks in advance... :thumbup

I have a shark SM helmet... I really dig it.

Very good fit... light.. nice style.

I have and appreciation for quality and Suomy, Arai and Shoei have always been at the top of my list.. I have added Shark to that now.

i have a suomy vandal helmet and love it. the other day i tried on a shark exo-700 and it didn't fit my head real well, it also pinched my ears. maybe just me though

shark RSI titan... amazing helmet and I love it. The shell is a bit big, but I like the idea behind it. It fit me like a glove, didn't fog at all. Been threw 2 accidents with it, and did its job great :) I recommend it. I was looking on ebay for a new one, I came across a RSR2 for almost 160 :0 !!!! but there only in XS and XL

i have seen a few go down at the track here taking some pretty hard hits. they all held up well and everybody walked away.

They work hard on safety features and that 3mm shield is awesome. I have a Shark RSX size Small for sale if you want.

I've got a Shark RSI and I really like it. Nice fit and finish. Not the quietest though. Of course mine is the lower-end model, so the others might be better.

One thing I can say is their customer service is awesome! I lost the little breath guard thing in my helmet, so I e-mailed them and they had their US distributor send one out to me immediately. Turns out it's a part that they sell at retail, but they sent it free of charge! :thumbup

and i have the RSI also, very quiet for me, unless the lip is up and i get a whistle

Shark helmets are awesome, fits nice and doesnt give you helmet hair. I love mine

I bought a shark at Moto gp last year and I absolutely love it. It is a tad noisy but the fit and finish combined with their safety standards more than makes up for it. Their visors are even shatter proof. One of their salesman actually bent one completely backwards and it didn't even flinch.

Thanks for the input guys. :thumbup I probably should find a shop that actually carries Shark so I can fit test them. I feel the best fit for me has been the Suomy (Spec1R) - Can anybody comment on the fit differences between the two makes? Also, at which level (model) do Shark helmets start being made in Thailand? Where are their TOP models made?

Mach 1 motorsports in Vallejo carry them. I got an RSR2 from them and love it. Best helmet I've had. I believe Cycle gear in fairfield has them too. -Tom.

EMA in pleasonton carries them as well. I have a RSI and love it. I don't think the helmet is very noisy at all imho. :thumbup

One of the things that sold me on it was the face shield. My last helmet was the type that you raise an lower the shield by the "click". At highway speed it would close itself when partially open.
The shark you set the tension it takes to open and close the visor with an allen wrench. there are no "clicks",it opens to where you want it and it will stay put.
It's a nice thick shield and the helmet design is excellent in the "no fog" department. -Tom.

The only thing that I would warn you about with sharks:

They're fantastic helmets, but they really, really restrict peripheral vision. I loved my RSX, it fit great, loved the helmet, but felt like i was riding through a TV screen. :( Ended up selling it because of that. :(
