So ... Sharknado 5 will debut this month. I never had an interest in watching any of the Sharknado films, but with the longevity of this franchise I thought I'd try to sit through one of them, just to see what the attraction is.

Anyone who has seen the series, please recommend the one - just one - Sharknado film that best exemplifies the entire Sharknado experience. I know from Lethal Weapon that the best in a series is sometimes the first; but for other series later iterations are better.

Thank you,
Lex

Start with the first one. It's stupid and funny. They're all streaming on Netflix.

I could go on and on about how bad and stupid that film was. :rant

In fact, I questioned why I was watching it several times. But you know what? I watched every friggin second, so it had some entertainment value :laughing

I'm just amazed that there are 3 others out with #5 coming out :wtf

It's so corny it's fun to watch, but really 5 movies!? I think I've only seen the first one.

Sharknado is fine, but in my considered opinion the best bad movies are those created by people earnestly trying to make an excellent movie. Sharknado and Snakes on a Plane are merely sarcastic meta-movies and aren't as funny or as unsettling as The Room, Showgirls 2: Penny's From Heaven, or Fateful Findings. Honorable mention for A Talking Cat!?!

Warning: watching Showgirls 2 is like an endurance test. You'll be a stronger person if you make it through, though. I've seen it three times, including once in the theater, and I'm now able to regenerate limbs.

There's easter eggs all up in those movies. See a new one each time there's a sharknado marathon.

And they can't be half bad when half of hollywood has been in one.

Was the 2nd one where Ian chainsawed himself out of the shark or was that the 1st one?

Just watch the first two...then they get really really stupid

If you can sit through the first showgirls you must have an iron constitution. That movie was atrocious!

Sharknado/other syfy (ugh spelling) movies are best when:
sick on the couch,
or eating pizza and drinking.

not necessarily in that order lol.

I feel Sharktopus was better than any Sharknado. Sharktopus vs Whalewolf was epic too.

Good!! I feel better knowing that I'm not the only one watching Shark Week on SyFy.

I have been loving this marathon of corny shark movies.

I am about to get on a train in Nevada, and i will not be home until 4:00pm, but I really hope to see Sharknado 5 Global Swarming tonight.

They are playing Sharknado 1-5 today on SyFy channel.

I can't believe I watched Trailer Park Shark yesterday...that was laughably stupid.

unless you grew up watching Saved By The Bell, then it's fucking AWESOME

As a full timer in an Airstream, I had to catch some of the trailer park version just to see how it was different.

Looks like a trailer park got flooded, (happening a lot in Az now) with muddy fresh water? How a shark can smell blood (or live) in muddy fresh water, or see anything before it bumps it.

I think I'll be safe for a while yet.

Its a genre.
