Its taken me months to realize the button is for showing new threads. I thought it was for posting a new thread.

nobody uses that theme, so we don't have that button.
Also, it does not produce new threads. All the threads it produced for me had no responses, and other new threads were missing, so I wonder if it produces threads without replies.?

I use that theme on mobile, as it works a lot better than the others for me. But I use the default on a computer.
