I want to state/request a couple of quick things. This has been discussed within the Mod Core and pretty much we all agree.

1. I would request that you start to limit the size of your signatures.
(Size 2 [default] or smaller font, and no more than 10 lines - spaces do count.)

THE GIANT Letters are certainly annoying to some and I have been contacted by a lot of folks that are tired of seeing a two word post and 5 inches of sig lines. Some of these have been sponsors of the board that are paying to help us :barf

2. I also want to make it clear.. that putting someone else's quote in your sig without permission in a negative way will be construed as baiting if the individual quoted contacts the mod core requesting removal. Therefore subject to the TOS applications.

The new software package will automatically limit the dimensions you will be allowed to use for signatures... so this is coming and I just wanted to ask if you could start some of those limitations as good will. If you take note in my sig of the race team sponsors.. I had changed them to show horizontally rather than a vertical line up. As such:

MOM
DAD
SISTER
PETER
PAUL
MARY....

to: MOM / DAD / SISTER / PETER / PAUL / MARY

This is not a bandwidth problem just a deal to make barfing a little better.
Some pages will be saved... but that is really not the deal. It is about getting to content rather than large graphics that are intrusive or spamish in nature.

Also, here is a suggestion I made in the Newbie's guide to BARF thread:

I use Mini Barf at work and at home, for faster upload and not too cluttered view. The difference between the Mobile view and the regular view is "/mobile" in the address link:

All you have to do to go from one view to another is to either add or remove the "/mobile" part from the address bar, regardless of where you are. You could be on the 5th page of a certain thread, and still can go back and forth between the views by adding or removing the "/mobile" from the address bar.
 
I agree with Budman.
It's actually pretty distracting having to plough though the huge signature area/messages of some members.
Specially, if the message is a one-liner, and the signature takes several lines of text. You simply don't know what you are reading anymore.

Makes more sense to change your signatures periodically if you can't amke up your mind which one you like better!

some sigs are recockulously way to big!!!

at the very least, if a person must overcompensate with a big sig, please make it in small font!!!

[ size=1 ] remove the spaces [ /size ]:)
