single sided swingarm on a R6

Post the pics again after you put the pipe and the chain back on...

for now....i kinda does look out of place to me too.

cant do it...... the swing arm is coming off the it going to th chrome shop......then its off to volkal for the to do whatever they want with it.......gregg has the same swingarm on his R1...... check out his site....www.greggscustoms.com........

i dont think it matches the bike at all. it is too shiny and looks way out of place. the fact that it is a single swing arm for the rear is REALLY cool tho, and could potentially look sick as hell, but that particular swing arm just isnt right

heres a totally done up bike with the swing are and everything put back on

this isnt really my cup of tea but, it looks much more ballanced and proportioned than the above R6.

You said you're looking for feedback...

The rear wheel looks like it sits about an inch or so too far back....unless you're going for the drag bike look...

Nice work...looks like quality craftsmenship...:thumbup

i think it looks like taht because there is no pipe..... i do agree with you it does look like its sit a bit back...... but so does the silver r1 with out the exhaust........ peace

I was about to say... the reason it looks so out of place is because on the ducati, you have that wall of double exhaust pipe running up the right hand side. Add the cans under the seat and you get much less "empty" space

i don't like the actual swing arm. the construction is so....homemade looking. it's like i take a few pipes chrome it, and bend it into shape....a cruiser styling on a sportbike= no

on the other hand if he made it more substantial like this magnesium one
CM0114.jpg

then it'd get the thumbs up.

i can't exactly describe why i don't like it, but it def. has to do with the actual design of that swing arm. needs more substance....

not pissing on ya=) just giving constructive critism=)

The tubular swingarm does not match with most japanese frames.
It will definetly go great with a tubular frame though.
Has he ever tri to build something like A.R.M.s single side swingarm?
Thumbs up in the effort, there is a market for every product :thumbup

By the way, it looks weaker than the original swingarm, How does it ride?

Im a big fan of single sided swing arms. I just think they look so much better then standard swing arms. I cant wait to see the bike with its pipe on, keep up updated. It looks sweet!

Looks great, but would look better on a tricked out streetfighter :thumbup

Looks good, but...

I think it definitely looks trick and I also like it on Greg's R1.

However, when it comes to sport bikes the performance-related improvements matter as much, if not more than the estetic changes. I would like to know for example whether the new swing arm removes any weight from the bike. Does it improve or warsen the handling? In contrast, why do we see really substantial, beefy swing arms on the GP bikes? Why has Ducati gone with the conventional dual-sided arms for the latest 999 and 748 models?

The biggest booster to the credibility and legitemacy of this mod would be to see it used in a racing environment. Would you consider giving it to some race teams for testing?

Looks sweet though.

the swingarm feels the same to me......... wheelies, street riding, track, there doesnt seem to be a difference......it doesnt seem to affect the handling of the bike.......but yea, thanks for all the comments............... peace

i thinks it looks different. I think it would look better if the swing arm was beefier, like the ram ones or ones like the vfr. And yes, the mismatch rims look a little funny, but hey its a work in progress and I have seen Gregs R1 and that shit is the sickest so when it is done, I am sure it will be sick as hell.
