Have you seen what people have been doing with that Kinect device for the Xbox 360?

UC Berkeley mounted one on a model helicopter and has it flying autonomously. It's damn near self-aware.

Microsuck was about to throw a bunch of law suits on the people who were modding the kinect, like they've done with the Xbox, but then realized that the only people who were buying the things were modders, and backed off.

Normally their devices are locked down, but they didn't do that with the Kinect. There has to be something to that. It only has features that will appeal to little kids, so they should have known it wasn't going to sell to gamers to make their R&D dollars back.
