Skyrim

the first 1:10 seconds make me appreciate how fast my PC is.

40 second load time vs my 10 second load times. :laughing :nerd

thats why i install it, its no 10 sec load time but 20 sec will do.

20 seconds?! More people need to be getting SSDs :) This is why I like to play on the PC...

I did the load to Markarth and it took <3 seconds... Alot of the time I actually wish it was a little slower because I never get to read some of the longer informational bits that they place on the loading screens! :(

Haven't timed my PS3 but it's not 40 seconds to load anything. @ Cinc - yes, i've tried both casting invisibility and popping a potion prior to fast traveling to there. Neither works, they are gone upon load. Also, I have 0 time to open inventory prior to guard spotting me. As soon as it loads it spawns me right next to one and automatically cuts to that stupid dialogue that he's spotted me and i can't move.

Yea my PC loads every environment in about 3-5 seconds. I have a SSD but that only runs my OS, no way I can install my games on a SSD (capacity too small to fit my 375gb worth of games o_O)

Little help here:

So i was walking along with my protector chick on my way to get some horn for the Greybeard dudes and we found a deserted castle and killed some ghosts and once inside I fell through a trap door into a cage with some water and a couple bodies in it and this sorcerer dude tried to wack me, but me and the chick killed him, then I found a "word" that would make animals docile when I yelled it at them but to make it active I had to get the soul of a dragon or some shit, so at the top of the hill where the deserted castle was there was also a dragon flying around so I picked a fight with him and got pretty pissed when he killed my servant-chick so I killed him and inhaled his soul... only it didn't make my new word work. WTF?

How do I get this fancy new word to work?

And I'm fuckin bummed the Lydya chick is dead. She was kinda hot and could kill.

that's one longass sentance.

you collect souls, then you go into your powers tab under magic and spend souls on words you've learned

Beau

- reload the game from a SAV file from before the fight. have a do-over.

- or get a new friend

- or have no friends /foreveralone

- to add to what Bass said, when you're looking at the Shouts in the menu the activated ones will be white and the known-but-not-activated ones will be grayed out. select a grayed out one and then look at the options given in the lower left hand corner. it should be something like:
[E] Cancel [R] Learn Shout

Thanks.

As much as I dig the chick, there's no way I'm re-fighting that dragon. I'm a fuckin level 7. There is some dude who's family cript I rid of a defiling priest, he asked if he could tag along but wouldn't when he saw I was already with Lydya. He's kinda faggoty in a blond "I skip with scissors" way, but bitch can handle himself with an ax. I'll go back to his casa and fetch him.

Is there a cheat code to make these fucking people talk faster? Your cousin's dogsitter's uncle tripped on a dragon turd once? Do tell me all about it - and take your time, please. It's not like I have 23 quests queued up. You know what? I'll just kill you instead. Apparently, death is the only way to punctuate your run-on sentences.

"B" button on Xbox. Skips to the next sentence.

Beau -- to get the Dragon words to work -- bring up the Menu, press left to go to Magic, and then scroll down to "Shouts"

Those are the words. You have to unlock them with dragon souls you absorb each time you kill a dragon. The one that you learned, go down to it and then press unlock, then "equip" it like you do with a weapon or whatever.

Then when you're out killin shit, press the right bumper and you'll use the shout.

Roger that Mike.

Now can you explain to me what one of the shouts makes me run like ten steps real quick? A whole fucking TEN steps. I mean sure, that would be useful for the last ten steps to the toilet if I hadda shit real bad.... but c'mon; it's fuckin useless.

Actually, you'll use it several times in dungeons that have this really irritating safeguard where you pull the handle and the gate opens and as you walk toward the gate, it closes... then you go back, pull the handle, then run back and miss it by 3 steps :) The shout and dash shout suddenly becomes very useful then :)

Also there are some jumps that are JUST a little too far to make by sprinting and jumping, but if you use the shout, you make it across easily, and also look like you slam into the far wall face first :laughing

I've found most of the shouts to be useless. Only ones I use are Dragonrend and the fireball one. 100% cost reduction to destruction spells + fireball shout = high damage output.
