So I'm getting married...need a cake!

Probably won't be your cheapest option, but their cakes (and all of their desserts) are phenomenal. If you're near the area, pop in and try some of their stuff. I drive from Vallejo to Los Altos occasionally to pick up some desserts for the lady (she's pregnant, whatever she says goes).
 
Congratulations Robert!!!!! I'm super happy for ya. I saw the wedding solitaire ring on facebook and it was spectacular! I know that if you choose the wedding cake like you chose the ring it will be a great wedding cake.

I went the "home made cake route" for our civil wedding. A lady I know that takes pride and has a lot of passion for baking made it. And it was a delicious wedding cake, that everyone ate. I had none left over. It wasn't super sweet and the icing or creme topping was not so sweet that people left it uneaton on the plate. I was super happy about that. A lot of peeps I know eat the bready part and not the icing. It's just pure sugar. On my wedding I had the cake and the icing. :teeth

My sister knows of a lady in Benicia that has a bakery, I'll try and get the info for ya. We have cakes from that lady for all our get together all things celebratory family occasions.

If I do have a big wedding I'd totally go for the ice cram cake!! Ice cram contains a natural anit-depressant. You never hear a person say "oh man.. i hate having to eat this ice cram!" :laughing
 
Not to be a downer, but if you think you'll need an anti depressant on your wedding day, hit the ripcord before it's too late.

We are liking the idea of a smaller two tier cake with a cool topper and then a bunch of cupcakes.

I will get you the person we used, she does it out of her home and is absolutely amazing. Also gives you a new cake at your 1 year anniversary for free.

I'm not kidding you, she was cheaper than most places, had better cake, and was cool.
