Aug 21 2017 we will have a total solar eclipse visible from the US mainland.
linky here:

http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/SEgoogle/SEgoogle2001/SE2017Aug21Tgoogle.html

This should be pretty good - a minimum of about 2 minutes of totality anywhere along the path in the US (weather permitting).

Unfortunately nothing to see here in the BA... Gotta travel.
barf group ride into the EyeDeeHo mountains where we sacrifice our virgin when the sky goes out? :thumbup

Imagine all the people moving into the narrow path of the total eclipse. :laughing
Be watching how the weather is during August along the projected path. Seen videos of the eclipse in Indonesia with all the cloud cover. :x Something to consider.

Has been on my radar for several years. I will be in my camper somewhere off road eastern Oregon or Idaho.

Stellarium is very good given the price (free!) But no, the vid above was made using Starry Night, which is a bit better for ascom integration and scope control.

Al are you thinking camping or hotels?

The much better half and I will be some where in the truck camper. Hope to get off the beaten path and away from the crowds.
