Aug 21 2017 we will have a total solar eclipse visible from the US mainland.

This should be pretty good - a minimum of about 2 minutes of totality anywhere along the path in the US (weather permitting).

Unfortunately nothing to see here in the BA... Gotta travel.

Imagine all the people moving into the narrow path of the total eclipse.
Be watching how the weather is during August along the projected path. Seen videos of the eclipse in Indonesia with all the cloud cover. Something to consider.

Stellarium is very good given the price (free!) But no, the vid above was made using Starry Night, which is a bit better for ascom integration and scope control.

RV, so planning a large loop with southern Idaho in the middle.
