Please forgive the very neophyte question. What is a grey bike or grey market bike?

This bike looks gorgeous!

Grey bike is slang for grey market bike.
Grey market simply means that it is a model of vehicle that was not destined for market in what ever country it is in.
In this case, the CBR400 was a Japan only model. It was never intended for sale in the United States, but since it is here, it is referred to as a grey market bike.

Thanks for responding Dave. I have been jammed up lately and have not been able to respond timely.

One thing you may notice about grey-market bikes is that they tend to hold their value better than most sportbikes.

PM sent back.

Scotty

Scotty is correct about them holding value. Mine went in trade for an '06 DRZ 400 SM that I turn traded for an '05 R6, so you get the idea. Mine was track only, too.

And not to thread jack, but if the buyer is looking for spares, I have a few in my garage I'd like to part with. PM after you buy and I'll tell you what I have.

Sold. Moderator please close thread.
