-----SOLD-----

$2000 To a good home. This bike deserves to be ridden.

This is a 2002 Kawasaki Concours I purchased from the original owner last year. I have put maybe 500 miles on it since I bought it. I did not become attached to this bike as I had hoped. That did not stop me from making improvements and buying parts. The first thing I did was rebuild the clutch master cylinder and put new rubber on the rear. Installed an OEM back rest - had it and the original seat reupholstered. Has a new rifle windshield kit with extra tall windscreen. Replaced most of the fairing bolts with hex head.

The bike runs great. I did perform a bafflectomy which makes it a little louder and helps the exhaust flow better. It hasn't been ridden much. I found a Trumph Sprint ST that fits my style, so the Concours is for sale. Has a Ballistic battery. Original tool set and lock.

Minor cosmetic issues. Just paid for non-op.

Thank you. It is a nice bike. Hope to find a buyer here. Please spread the word if you know someone looking for a Connie.

Starting to warm up outside. Let's find this beautiful sporty touring bike a new home and back on the road where it belongs.

Shame people haven't picked her up yet. Really good/reliable long distance bikes. Know folks who have ridden them 100K+ K-miles. Still engine parts easy availability (fits zx, zzr, zrx, etc.)

I'm having trouble talking kids into a bike =skert, or I would have gotten it by now. So, just a friendly bump for ya....

=d

Great bike. My first bike after a five year break. Don't let her fool you, this is no old man's bike. She has plenty of get up and go, can ride across the country fully loaded with two people and gear and still get 45MPG, has a fantastic wind screen for exceptional wind and water protection. Plus she is easier to maintain than my newer Connie. Plus this one is obviously very well cared for and has 90% of her life yet to live. These will EASILY go past 200k.

I found another bike I would love to add to the stable. I'm feeling motivated to sell. What's it going to take? Any suggestions?

FWIW: No offence; but I'm sure you haven't many takers due to age/mileage. I think @ $2.5K is appropriate f/what it is. Are you advertising it anyplace else? If not, do so: (Craigslist/Nationwide lists/etc.) You should be able to get at least $2.5K IMHO.

I know you wanted more, but consider a comparable ZRX w/same miles is getting ~$2.5K-$3.3K+. The tipper I figure is the old ZRX11/12 has a much bigger draw than an old Connie, no?

Mainstream riders are not aware your bike runs the same engine w/some more desireable differences: Yours has the 6-speed tranny instead of 5, AND (IIRC) it's also got better midrange (ZZR) cams, & downdraft carbs (40's) & PLUS the ZZR head over the ZRX's sidedraft.

In a nutshell, the engine has much more potential than the ZRX, but I'm sure most are unaware of that =as most Connie riders leave their engines alone.
You'd be surprised how many ZRX's have Connie engines.:teeth In 03' I -almost- bought a ZZR1200, but didn't. For the above reasons. I wish you good luck my friend...
