+1 for an honest moto enthusiast. :thumbup

Thanks!

Light output comparison of the halogen + aux LED lights vs. the LED headlight bulb + aux LED lights.

Minimal amount of glare with right-side "sign-finder" pattern. Stock H4 Halogen bulb is included with sale. :thumbup

I am selling my F800GS and considering an SM-T or an FJ-09. As you currently have both... what is your take?

Heh, I get this question a lot.

The SMT and FJ-09 are both great bikes in their own right. It comes down to motor preference. 90% of my riding career has been on triples, so I am most comfortable on them.

The SMT has significantly better suspension and brakes—an area where I'm about to drop nearly $3k on the FJ to get it in the same ballpark of the SMT. Don't get me wrong, I am by no means a suspension snob. The FJ is a budget bike and suspension and brakes are the areas that it's obvious. I'm reminded of this every time I throw a leg over and take off. The longer travel suspension and greater ground clearance of the SMT gives me greater confidence on the goaty stuff.

The FJ is pretty fun, but I was looking for an appliance bike when I bought the FJ. I almost regret it as total price with the mods and such to get it on the same level of the SMT is close to $15k. The SMT is better set up for sport touring, in my opinion. Range on both (with my riding style) is about ~150, but the SMT's bags are incredibly handy—something that is another $1k-$2k on the FJ. :x I modded this SMT to address all the annoying quirks that the FJ would have a lead on—fueling, reliability, HP, tour-ability, etc.

If I wasn't as comfortable with the triple, I'd absolutely be selling the FJ instead of the KTM and her V-Twin. As I mentioned before, I think it comes down to motor preference.

Hope that helps! :thumbup

Monday bump. Available this week and Saturday to show the bike!

Bump for James' SMT: just wanted to let anyone who is looking at this bike know that it is in absolute pristine condition.

James has been super meticulous about his bike, it clearly shows in his post and from looking at any parts of this beautiful motorcycle.

If anyone is looking for an SMT, I believe this is the one to get.

I would have picked it up for James and ridden it to Alaska .. if I didn't lurk for the SMR sister more than the T ;-)

best of luck with the sale James, hope it finds a good home!
