"Punkin" - 2004 KTM 625 SMC (Salvage Title)
First-things-first, full disclosure that this is a Salvage title bike (collision). The previous owner bought this at an insurance auction at 1100 miles, and I bought it after he had put 2400 miles on it. Currently the Odo reads 4100 miles, but I'll probably add a few more as I scrub in the new tires
4100 miles
New Continental Contiforce SM tires (less than 50 miles on them) with new tubes ("duh", but needs to be said :| )
New battery
JD Jet Kit
New Stator
New chain and sprockets (went 16/42, to make it more commute-worthy)
Comes with Service Manual (on the official CD and in print-format)
Recently has been through the 65 point inspection at Tri-Valley Moto; passed with a clean bill of health.
Plated & Registered through to August 2010.
This thing is super fun on twisty backroads, rough pavement, or empty parking lots, but wind blasts heading over Pigeon Pass or Sunol Grade leave me thinking of other choices for freeway travel. The bike is more than capable of freeway speeds, as I have taken it back and forth from Livermore to San Jose a handful of times. The last time I rode it to San Jose I picked up a nail in the rear, prompting me to put on the new rubbers.
I'm selling this to get a more commute-worthy bike; haven't decided what, yet, but have a few thoughts percolating in my head.
No test rides without cash in hand. Must show M1 license and insurance too.
$3200 firm.
