SOLD - 1988 Honda Hawk GT built by yours truly in 2014. This was the 1st WCHR Raffle Bike. Back to live with me for a bit and I simply have too many bikes (7 Hawks alone, lol). F2 front end, VFR rear wheel conversion, braided brake lines, WW/R bits all over it, Fox shock, Corbin seat, Fuel slip on exhaust, Uni pods + FactoryPro Jet kit, tires in excellent shape, fresh fluids all around this past week. Bike runs, handles, and rides great. Could use a real detail. Tank was relined when body bits were resprayed in 2014 - and paint still looks great as bike has been stored indoors. I've some how ended up full tilt on Hawk GT's again, and this is the first one that needs to leave the herd so I can get onto the other 7+ builds (but those will wait until winter, it's riding season!). Located in Reno, NV. Asking $2,600 OBO Cash - no trades.Screenshot 2026-07-15 at 8.01.18 AM.png

What's with all the Hawks all of a sudden???

Still haven't sold mine.

Such great bikes for smaller riders
Or anyone in the city. These things are like scalpels.

They are great bikes for newer/smaller riders (but not bad for normal size and experienced folks as well - depending on the build and setup). Harmer got out last fall - I bought back my BlackBetty bits and the BlueApex plus a bunch of other bits. SDR got out, too, and my buddy bought his stash (think 3 car garage full) and then brought me what was left of it last month. It's a ton of stuff and I want to do a few more cool builds before I call it quits in 2 years. One will be a 663 uber light project, the other a really trick 700 project (more trick than this one), and the rest? Not sure - but I have 7 engines, 9 tanks, 13 tail sections 8 seats, 9 frames with titles, enough swing arms, wheels, eccentrics, etc. to make most of it work. Just depends on my motivation and actual time to wrench on things, but since WW/Reboot is happening it fits.

They are like scalpels - most especially when you work the suspension (stock forks work well enough properly setup with GVE's, springs and oil and slap a Penske, Fox, or Ohlins on the back with sticky rubber - and just go). I love riding a ~40 year old bike with my *kids* on their modern 120+hp moto and well, keeping up or setting the pace no electronics required. Then again, when I get off one and onto the V100S or 1100V4 (or heck even the CB750 Hornet) it kind of makes sense why the classics are well just - classic. But value ratio is hard to beat.

WW/Reboot

Here's another one we built up this winter for my now sober friend T-Bone. C fits on the CB1 well but it's really still a project that I should just sell on as I've lost interest.

If you need engine parts, or other parts, check out my classified ad also.

I have two sets of cylinders and heads, engine case covers etc.

I doubt the buyer of my bike will want it all

Well, I have 11 complete engines and spare heads, cases, etc. so I think I'm good. The 3x 700 and 2x 663 builds are for sure golden, the rest are stock and all have great compression. It's a lifetime worth of builds if I'm honest.

But thank you, I do appreciate that.

A few asked - this is a CA title (salvaged frame was donated for the build in 2014). Currently on non-op - fee calc attached for reference.

Painful to see these beautiful, dialed, trick classics going so cheap.

I am selling mine for what a clapped out 40k mile, lived outside in SF it's whole life hawk sold for when I was there.

Sigh

Yeah the little NT650 never really pulled the values I thought they should, or at least haven't yet. Seems people are leaning towards legit OEM style restorations which is a shame, because in truly stock form the bike has horrendous suspension and they respond well to simple bolton mods for more power and greatly improved throttle response/ auditory therapy ;)

Right?

A 30% larger hawk would be a .....

wait for it.....

SUPER Hawk!!!!!!

Man, I wish

I'm no moto builder, but I wonder how unrealistic it would be to increase the suspension travel to make the thing more super moto-esq. That'd be fun.

A massive undertaking.

I have a 900 RR rear shock for mine, which was a common mod back in the day and it is a touch longer than the stock hawk shock and it is pushing the limits of putting the swing arm at an odd angle.

The problem isn't the suspension travel, it is the seat to peg distance, the seat is very low, which helps short riders be comfortable on the bike.

I guess with enough time, money and sledgehammers, you can do anything.

But the appeal of the hawk is in its svelte nimble V-Twin goodness
