How many of you, us ..... me, would give up all you have, all you might every have..... to travel in space to better mankind?

I would.
 
I would, but what if part of the mission was to bring and raise a family? I am not so sure I could do that to my kids and then explain that they can never see earth.

ah screw them. if they've never been here they won't know what they are missing. just show them venus and tell them it's gonna be pretty much the same thing before too long anyways.

Screw that. It would be exciting for about a month, then you would spend the rest of your life couped up in a tiny space with the same people bored to death. I am willing to bet after a year or two you would want to murder everybody that came along with you. No thank you.
 
However, to step first on....in this case, the Red Planet.... to do what has not been done before..... to, as clique as it sounds.... to go boldly where none has go before....... to have High Schools named after you... to lead the way...... yes, I would.

Me too. Call me selfish, but I'm not willing to sacrifice what I have and the people I love to be a part of history. They can name their schools and have a holiday honoring someone else.
