speeding motorcycles, cop, gun, bang!

Thank goodness for the video. If it wasn’t for that, there would be a criminal walking around with a badge right now instead of being on trial in the full light of day. This is an atrocity.

First of all, the guy on the bike wasn’t COMPLETELY blameless here. Driving under the influence, not paying attention to your mirrors, ridiculously loud bike (relevant because he didn’t hear the siren at first and perhaps the “commands”). But NONE of that warranted getting shot. I assign him 3 percent responsibility for the situation. A more careful rider might not be in a wheelchair right now.

I’ll even go so far as to cut the cop a tiny bit of slack and recognize the right hand of the victim (carefully chosen word) was a little less visible from his perspective than that of the camera. But there was no way a guy on a bike is going to whirl around and fire from that position without plenty of time to fire.

My take on it is the cop realized he was behind a big dude on a loud hog and was already afraid and jacked up on adrenaline and his finger got ahead of his brain. Someone mentioned muscle memory training and I bet that’s pretty darn close to it.

The problem is he can’t admit his mistake.

(Which is the same problem some people in this thread have. Yikes! I thought this was the KS for a while. WTF are the mods???)

Someone once ridiculed me for my procedure when pulled over: Bike off, key out and in right hand held outstretched, left hand on grip. I make it clear what *my* intentions are before he’s even out of the car. What happened on this tape is the reason why.

Good Lord.

How anyone could view that and think the guy deserved it is just beyond comprehension.

It makes me think of the time my grandma got pulled over. She was so scared she kept the window rolled up, then drove off, then pulled over again and tried to run to a telephone.

I am still glad they didn't shoot her in the back. Although, we did take her keys away shortly after that.

Maybe that's because the first 150+ replies were made when this post was in the Sink. :twofinger

If you watch the full vid the cop was just following these 2 knuckleheads around. .

Can't open the vidio here at work:( but my guess is that they were evos.

Damn, will have to open the vid tonight at home. Someone noted early on that the riders right hand moved down by his waist. If it is like many Dynas, that is where the key is (just under the seat to the right).

I think what a lot of people are waking up to is that we are becoming more and more like a police state in this country every day.

I am not anti-authority or against the cops, it is just an observation.

Witness things like this, the recent "drug bust" in Columbia with the dogs killed, the beating of a college kid in MD, the cop that pulled the gun on the 1000RR rider then searched his house, on and on and on.

Meanwhile the crooks at the top get away with looting the country and buying off the gov't to the highest levels.

This does not end well. :2cents

I wouldn't be surprised if the paralyzed victim would have got arrested if he had uploaded a helmet cam video of him being shot by the LEO. I do appreciate it when the LEOs do do their job and save people. But incidents like this and 1000RR rider should make us realize that the system is far from perfect and we need to be very careful out there. I'm totally glad the SJ PD are being recorded while they are on patrol.

NO. I'm saying hes a fucking moron and is lucky that his outcome was only parallelization by an officer that made a bad call instead of taking the life of someone else, including his own. Maybe if that officer wouldn't have stopped him and shot him, they might have blown all those stops signs and broadsided a car and died? Nobody will ever know.

Did you finish remedial English yet? I'll be happy to teach you so you can get your GED.

I wish I could show this thread to paralyzed dude, he'd probably get a kick out of it (or tell y'all to STFU)... Either way, it would be funny.

To whomever has taken it upon themselves in this thread to continue harassment outside of the forum after I clearly stated I was leaving BARF:

I have come back to make one last, VERY CLEAR, statement.

LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE. NOW.

I will pursue necessary legal action if need be. Grow the fuck up.
