‘23 Ducati Hypermotard 950 sp
I'm happy with my Angel GTs, but would have bought M7RRs if they were in stock when I had time to bring the wheels in.
PR4 GT worked well on a loaded at-capacity FJR. Always inspired confidence. They did get square in the back but handling wasn't hugely effected.
Holy cow, what are you doing? Coasting everywhere? I get about 3000 and I'm happy with anything over 1500 miles.
For a 450 pound 120 hp sportbike.
Do I just buy a set of Pirelli Angel GT's and forget it?
I got 15K+ out of a PR4 rear, on an 1100cc Ducati, and the current pair is still looking alright almost 15K later. What tire pressures are you running?
Let me elaborate on the road smart 2/3's
I've ran a few sets I'd Rs2's over the years on various bikes. The milage I've got out of them has been insane. Currently I have Rs2's on my Nc700x, the rear has 7k miles and front has 5k. Both should be good for another 2k at least.
I ran Rs3's on my st1300, got a solid 5k out of the rear before it was shagged. This was 5k miles fully loaded with gear for a month long camping trip at a very good clip every day. Previously, I got 4k out of a set of Rs2's on the st1300, funny enough the front wore out first.
My usual tire life:
Pr4 - 2700
Angel GT - 3000
T30 (non Evo) 2700
M7 RR - 2K miles
Q3 - 1300-1500
Supercorsa - 1k
Pilot power Evo race thing - 1000
Pilot power - 2500
So, to find a tire that lasts over 3k is pretty amazing...
To find a tire that grips and handles my abuse, sign me up and call me a fanboi
Roadsmart 3's have a $100 rebate right now.
Are you riding on sandpaper?
I've gotten 5000 miles on sport tires on one liter I4's, with a trackday. I try not to abuse tires and I never do any burnouts but I almost never miss an opportunity to wheelie up an onramp or get hard on the gas in 2nd and 3rd.
I just want a tire I can get 10K from and I'd be satisfied.
I'd almost like to strap a gopro to people that get only 1000 miles from a tire just to see whats going on.
As far as tread life I got a little better life from the Metzeler Roadtec 01 (latest sport touring offering from Pirelli/Metzeler, which seems to alternate releases between the two brands) in back of my R1200R than I did the Angel GT before it. And on a milder bike, the Angel GT holds my record for best rear tire treadlife. That record in front goes to the Roadsmart 2.Long life with the best grip is what I'm looking for. I like the pointed profile of some sport tires, not sure if there's such a profile in a ST tire.
Could that be what Blankpage is looking for? I remember thinking their ancestor the BT023 was a bit reluctant to turn, with a relatively shallow profile compared to the old Angel ST.I may have posted before that I liked the Bridgestone T30's. That was true, but be wary of the T30 EVO. I'm not sure what they changed, but they handle a bit strange. The bike has a tendency to 'fall over' in a turn which I am not fond of.

Similarly, I'd like to see how someone gets 23,000 miles from a PR4 lol. How? I had them on my bike which was used mostly for commuting with fun rides on the weekends, and got 6,000 miles out of them. I thought that was incredible. I run 34-35psi cold, nothing crazy high or low. Maybe one person just accelerates and decelerates more than another, all the time?
I've never lost a set of tires (or an individual tire) to a flat. I've repaired them. I did lose one to a shitty repair job the time I paid a shop to patch it though.I've never actually worn a motorcycle tire down to the wear bars - every set has been lost to a flat.![]()

T30's are some of the best gripping ST tires I've ever tried.
