I wouldn't call this a squid. Poor decision, yes, but judging by otherwise full gear with vis reflectors and whatnot, he knows about gear and its value but chose to wear the wrong shoes.
I would have been like...put your work shoes in that monster of a tank bag and wear your moto boots to work! It's what I do.

I love the heavy coat of motor oil in the middle of the lanes from cars of the time period.
At first I thought to myself that that is a really big helmet. Then I realized that it was a full faced helmet. Not even strapped on.
