StonyBARF 14 September 30 - Oct 3 , 2021 is ON!

In Friday thru Sunday! But still waiting for my van rack to arrive....and trying to get more break-in miles on my little kwak :ride

Question: what is the WATERsituation? Available nearby? Carry in?

And do they have 2 ply or just one? :rofl

Forgive me, I'm a Stonyford newb.

There’s plenty of potable water. Bring your own charmin.

The USFS "said" they were gonna shut the water off during the spring Stonybarf this year... but they didn't do it. I think there was some persuasion from Rebecca.

The Group vault toilets did run out of TP last year so it's always a good idea to pack an extra roll with you. In previous years the rangers came in and re-stocked the TP.

USDA/FS Campsite link.

Rec.gov-Gray Pine Group Campgrounds

I am going up tomorrow.
Will try to get a camp at North Fork Campground until Thursday morning then move to Gray Pine.

No internet up there so see ya'all Thursday or later.

Not sure of my status. I am all involved in my van :laughing

I really wanted to do this, but I've got to travel out of the country the following Monday, so I don't want to risk getting hurt. :(

Maybe next year.

I don't believe I've missed one but will this time. I'll be on the NBMC Lost Coast ADV ride. Have fun guys and gals!

This stoney newbie should be arriving Friday and in lieu of the above no shows, I'll be accompanied by two other first timers, gwarhawk and SN unknown.

Right?! Finally:ride. Get ready to be impressed by incredibly slow speed and duck walking ability:laughing And hey, if you want to give the WR a go, you are more than welcome, but I don't really want to ride the mighty KLR:laughing

Also, I'm driving up, so for anyone riding, if you need me to bring up luxury items (eg. groceries, chairs, party supplies, etc) I have room.

Hello Neighbor, will U B my friend?

I'm looking for mellow riders to cohort with @ Stonyford this weekend.

Offroad, I'm a solid intermediate rider who knows roost from rim locks.:ride I've ridden for many years, mostly on the road. I'm not really slow, just enjoying the ride.

I've slowed down a bit with age, got a new bike, and not very familiar with Stonyford area.

Interested in a relaxed touring pace, stopping occasionally for views/photos/sights. Vaccinated only, please. :deadhorse

Looking for a longer ride on Saturday...at least in hours. I'll be on the green ds and silver van.

you sound like a better rider than me, but I usually head up Mt St. John to watch the sunsets/sunrises ... it's about 10 miles one way.

we could try that out on Friday evening, or some other sunrise/set, if you're around. based on your PCT interest you may like it up there (or maybe you've been up there, already)?

anyway, hope to see you soon ... :thumbup:ride

I've got a 125mi loop in mind for Saturday, and won't be in a hurry

I'd definitely be in for a trip up Mt. St. John Friday evening! As long as at least some folks have better lights than me :)

I should get to camp mid-afternoon on Friday. Looking forward to it!

I'll be there Thursday night to Saturday noon.

FYI - I was at Penny Pines last weekend and there were dozens of downed trees across the trails. Not sure how much of the Stonyford part of the forest was burned a couple years ago and how many trees are waiting to fall.
