Stonybarf 4 on the Weekend of March 26, 2015

Me and Cabrito will be rolling in late Friday night, unless I can get a babysitter. Are any of you going to target shoot out there?

I could bring a few toys but not sure if I can ride out of camp with an AR strapped on my back... It may get in the way of my camel back!

There's a shooting range nearby? Hmm maybe I'll bring my 22 rifle, I have this resetting target that never gets used.

Anyway I'm planning to journey out there on Thursday and setup camp and get ready for the next days festivities. I've never been there any advice on directions? I know I've got to get to I5 somehow.

I'm pulling a trailer so I like to come in through willows and past thunder hill and then make a left and come in. Less twisty it seems. But there is a cool ranch on the twisty road in that has a herd of buffalo. Stopped there and took pics last time up without the trailer. The road into the park is pretty curvy so try and make it during light hours or it could be fun. I hope its not too busy. Thinking about bringing my standing steel target if others are wanting to shoot also.

If it does get as hot as forecast maybe a ride to Letts lake for a dip would be good. For plated bikes it should be doable, can it be reached purely by trails?

It does look like it's gonna be hot..

I might be taking a hike to a secret swimming hole with a 15ft rock to jump off of..

mine camp is also a good place for a dip. letts has that stinky mud you gotta walk through to get into the water in most spots. i think there is a couple places you can jump in though. but yes LETTS can be reached by trails. you take the risk of possibly getting a ticket once you get to the road right across from the camp sites so you may have to walk your bike.

Isn't there a creek near the campsite? Might have a couple pools in it.

A couple weather sites are saying chance of rain saturday night.

I am so stoked I may just sleep on my bike tonight! Anyone else heading up Thursday from SJ South Bay? The wife is wanting to do other things this weekend so I may be solo so I'll have room for another bike possibly. I'm bringing 2 bikes, fire wood galore, 1-2-6 guns as it depends how many others bring, beer, beer, more beer, jack D, coke, ice, a few pairs of socks, I have a TV and DVD player I can put outside if talking shit about motos is boring, and prob 10 gallons of fuel.

I am bummed but family issues will derail my participation.
Please give $20 per party to Aaron Lunch Box; anything collected beyond the $235 will go to beer and Jack for the next trip. I have been putting up the fee on these...

Beer, moto, moto, beer, guns, campfires, motobeermotojack and ... We live like kings.
You guys have fun.

Steel targets are fun to shoot at, I'll pick up some spray paint for them if you guys don't have any. I love guns.:troy

really, with all the great riding up there some of you are thinking of doing something else? to each his own i suppose :p

Kinda what I was thinking, but hey....

Where is this target area anyway.. I've been going up there for years and never hear any shooting from the North Fork CG.. I do see hunters driving around hunting from their trucks..

What's the nearest place for water/ice/beer/etc to the campground? I'm riding up through the MNF and don't want to schlep a bunch of stuff if there's a semi-local store.

theres a local store that has that stuff. you will pass it on the road in

The closest store is in the town of Stonyford. It's about 20-30 minutes from camp or about 15 miles.
