Stop calling it a 'sport'

Acura doesn't make sports cars. They make grand touring coupes and sedans. A sports car is defined as an open top, stick shift, rear-wheel drive, two-door coupe.

I think I am catching on....
A Corvette with a manual transmission is a sports car.
A Corvette with an automatic transmission is not a sports car.
An Acura NSX is not a sports car regardless of transmission type (it is a grand touring coupe).

Just stay out of the section with the rich people. I hear they have video cameras.

Stick to the section with poor people, they probably can only afford to take a daguerreotype of you as you speed past -- as long as you don't freeze for 60 to 90 seconds, you should be fine.

Sorry, i took my only cheap shot....no more comments on that!

arrrgh, ya beat me! I'll be right back, unless I die of sport-itis.:laughing Call it what you will, if I was deaf and illiterate it would still give me a bigger rush than scoring a TD.:teeth

That's two bad, there's a 3 for the price of 2 special on cheap shots in aisle five.

Sorry, it's probably been said, but I don't feel like reading all of it to state my point. I used to be a somewhat hardcore cyclist. I had my expensive bike, my riding jersey, my bike shorts, the works. Now... uhh... I don't have a "track" to ride on. Even the Tour De France isn't on a track, yes its closed off roads, but its a sport regardless. It's teh way you go about it. Riding your bike to work is just commuting. When you put the gear on and you ride hard, its a sport. When I'm carving up the twisties, even if I'm not going hard, its a sport. I'm in the gear, I'm in the zone, I may be riding lightly, but its still a sport. Whether we do it in a safe manner or not is questionable, but its still a sport.

Only if the 'vette is a convertible, like the original, but since the modern convertible version is simply based on the regular GT piece, and even softened a bit, it's debatable as to wether such chop-tops are pure sports cars. Throw in an automatic and it's practically a touring car.

True sports cars of today would be the Honda S2000, the Porsche Boxster, the Mazda Miata, the BMW Z, and of that ilk, not just chopped-top versions of GTs or 2+2 coupes, with softened suspension, etc.

Sport or no sport it doesn't beat the following:
1. Destruction Derby
2. Drag Racing
3. Monster Trucks
4. And the best of all... NASCAR!

So basketball is a sport, but the dunk and three-point contests aren't.

a sport requires physical activity, rules and competition, so no, i don't think motorcycling is a "sport". for most people, it's a hobby, for some, a very reckless one. if i go for a run, it's not a sport, it's a hobby or exercise. if i'm trying to run faster than a bunch of other people on a set path, it's a sport.

by any definition other than an "active pastime" or "recreation" riding a motorcycle on the street SHOULDN'T be a sport. outside of a track no rules are followed, they are only broken, and there should never be any competition. i think this idea that motorcycling is a sport and can only be enjoyed at high speed is what is getting people killed every weekend.

i'm sorry folks, but get over yourselves. unless you're in the afm or something similar, you're just a guy with an expensive hobby. riding motorcycles, on its own, is not a sport. rules, physical activity, and competition; otherwise it's just a hobby.

Me thinks saizai has perfected the sport of trolling!! :infrandom

If we all gathered round and chased saizai trying to poll him........
would that qualify as a sport :confused
