Last Friday I was up in Humboldt county on FS1 with my DR650, a very isolated road with virtually nothing on it for miles and miles. I pulled off the road to check some maps and have a snack. During the half hour I was on the side of the road about 3 or 4 hunters in pickups drove by and all of them slowed down to see if I was OK and I gave them the thumbs up, showing that all was fine. One guy stopped and we chatted about the road and lack of signs at the few intersections there were.
He left and a few minutes went by and along comes a guy on a Harley. I wave eagerly to get a fellow bikers impression of the road and say hello. He drives right on by without a wave, a smile or nod. I guess he had important things to attend to!
