I've seen a couple of episodes and it's kind of cool to see what gets these neanderthals - well, Darrell and Jarrod are barbarians, not so much Dave and Barry - all twitter-pated. However, I'm consistently amazed at what these clowns think they're going to get for some of the items.

"Oh, here's a stereo tuner from a good brand - I can get $300 for that. And these plates with kittens on them are worth $20 each."

Nope, not gonna happen. And to compound the idiocy, when the show is "racking up the profits" - which aren't profits until the items are sold - they use the top of the range mentioned by the "expert". It's actually frustrating to hear the announcer talking about how much someone "made" on his storage unit when it's all fluffed-up conjecture.

Still, it's fun to watch, if only to see what junk these people will spend money to get.

Watched it once.

Just enough to realize the folks involved were a bit... uhm, nutter butter.

The odds in that game are not in the players favor.

its kind of dumb that you cant search BARF on BARF. all you gotta do is go to goolge and type "BARF" plus whatever your looking for and bam, there it is

I used to go to storage auctions with my step-dad when I was young. It can be pretty interesting. Some auctions will pull the contents out and put all the boxes in an area where you can "inspect" them...but only visually. You cannot pick them up, shake them or anything. Other facilities just sell off the entire unit without even letting you look inside.

I used to go to a trucking company auction. It was a lot of broken boxes and other refused items that had been written off.
There were some good deals if you were paying attention, and if you had a use for some stuff. A lot of building materials and furniture, restaurant items, and auto parts.
$35 for three 55 gallon barrels of olives is a great deal as long as you need 165 gallons of brined olives.
