Stranger Things Season 4

Damn, I forgot to watch it last weekend. Next weekend is booked already. :|

He had the big Russkie shatter 'em so he could fold his feet flat enough to slip the shackle off.
I thought he was gonna aim for the chain itself, but no, he's supposedly walking around with lower extremities made out of jello...and even had the guard yank on it a few times to verify it was still locked on. :laughing

I do like the way Murray talked himself into whooping Yuri's ass with karate. :rofl
"I beat a 16 year old kid, who is really good at karate...I could beat Yuri!!" And then did it. :laughing

At first I thought he was aiming to just fuck up the shackles so that he could fake lock them on himself enough to withstand the tug check, but then slip them off as needed...nope, they went for the ankle angle. :dunno And yeah no way in hell you're limping around more or less good to go with a smashed ankle, let alone jumping down from stuff, jumping up to the roof, jumping off the bag, etc.

The guards were stormtrooper rejects not even the Empire found useful.

Well, given the way Ukraine is going, that may be one of the most accurate details in the series...:laughing (sorry, not trying to get political).

Heads up to anyone who hasn't watched the final episode: Once the major event transpires there is ZERO reason to watch the remaining 40 minutes. It is nothing but a video montage of feels. No plot advancement what-so-ever.
Cut to the last five minutes to watch the utterly shocking teaser for season 5. So, so shocked.

Spoiler:

I felt like Hopper in Russia was just a plot point so that he wouldn't come to the rescue of the kids. Did him battling the demi gorgons there have any impact whatsoever on the kids abilities to fight Vecna at all?

Imma say no.

I watched the last episode last night. It was a mistake to think I’d get through both parts of volume 2 when I started so late in the night. So much happened that felt like the first time.

Still waiting for 1 to be like, "who's Vecna?" :laughing

I hope there’s a deleted scene similar to that. Maybe they address that with Henry like “who the fuck is Vecna!?”

To be fair, I don’t recall anyone calling him Vecna directly. Anyone correct me if I’m wrong. If they did, he’d be like...

Wait, are we pretending he can't get inside people's minds?

The very people who call him Vecna?

I just want them to take his eye and hand as relics. :D

That is true. :laughing

Having said that, I will call it a weird plot hole. I can’t speak for anyone other than myself but people calling me the wrong name rubs me the wrong way like nails on a chalkboard. :laughing

Binged seasons 3/4 over the past few days after dropping off at the end of season 2. This show is ridiculous and I think burning through S3 made it clear what the show is. A couple of kids holding the door shut against 4-5 adult russian soldiers?

Like I said, it's ridiculous, but a lot of fun to watch. Loved the Terminator 2 reference when Nancy was shooting Vecna.

They've been good about keeping the anachronisms to a minimum, but it bugs me that they're talking about "playing Nintendo." NES didn't land in the US until late 1985, and only in a few test markets. It wasn't widely available until 1986.

Season 4 takes place in 1986?

I had it in my head that S4 took place in spring of 85, but you're right, it is 86. Even still, the NES didn't have it's nationwide US release until September of 86. Chicago was a test market as early as Feb of 86, but that's a stretch for folks to start using that phrase so casually.

They were cutting it real close with Master of Puppets. I had to fact check that after Eddie's super duper tubular demon bat trailer guitar performance.

I thought it was an anachronism at first. :laughing

Its a fun near-anachronism just because it shows his dedication to the music.

Plus that scene was just fucking rad. I hadn't anticipated a TV show getting me back into metallica in 2022, but here we are.
