The Mercury Marquis de Sade wagon was definitely a close second to the Truckster…

I'd like a little more power, but can't really complain. 1.5" lift, Method wheels and Toyo AT tires. Gonna turn 100k miles in the next few days. Only had to replace one CV axle so far. :party

I'm all ears. I love me some hot wagons and the CTS V wagon is high on my want list.

He is on bookface and happy tontslk aboutbhis car. He's basically the crossfit vegan essential oil salesman of v-agons. Not that it's a bad thing he really likes his car.

I totally dig the TourX… built in Germany by Opel/Now PSA, AWD, decent performance.

Wife got one last year and so far she loves it.
That thing is great for long and short road trips, very comfortable for all passengers and has quite the punch when you step on the gas.
So far this winter in New England it has behaved great.

Sad that they are discontinuing them after 2021 but due to that I'm sure they have amazing deals on them.

The new ones don't do the head gasket thing.

Funny how that stigma is still so commonplace.
I don't really have a dog in the fight, I preferred the Evos I drove on track over the WRX's, but neither are a vehicle I would deem useful enough to pay registration on. Subaru has done a good job creating a loyal group of enthusiasts. The ones I have encountered are a little *too* loyal for me to believe them, though.
Anyone who is a die hard enthusiast can't be trusted to give an objective opinion of that particular brand, or the competition for that matter.
Huge props for the name, though.

:laughing I confess bias. :)

We have a '15 that's the wife's daily and our weekend adventure rig, and an '05 that had the head gaskets replacement and the block and heads machined. Cost another $2k on top of what I paid for the car, but I have a civilized, safe, reliable, efficient commuter that also happens to keep going forward in ridiculous amounts of snow for well under 5 grand.

Trust me, I am tempted....

I’ve only seen 2 on the road and they were both in the Santa Cruz area.

When do we start with the head gasket jokes?

I turned wrenches for a Sooby dealer for a few years. This is indeed a thing. (which you are obviously aware of)
The bad news, they are gonna start leaking oil at around 50k miles.
The good news, you can bang 'em out in about 3.5 hours.
They are truly some of the easiest engines I've ever worked on....at least until the 'trust fund tuner kids' start bolting the entire internet on them.

The wife picked up a new Outback a few months ago. Didn't think it would be my cup of tea, but it's fucking awesome. For what it is. Very nice driver, tons of room, even doesn't look half bad.
