Suggestions for Berkeley Route?

Hi Everyone!

I'm a fairly new rider in Berkeley (got my Ninja 250!), and I was wondering if you guys have any good suggestions on a nice (pretty) place to ride that's not too far or too difficult. I've gone up to the Lawrence Labs and to the Emeryville and Berkeley Bay and am looking for a new and nice route.

Reason: My boyfriend taught / convinced me to ride a year ago, and our two year anniversary is coming up. I thought it'd be nice and fun if we went for a motorcycle ride and then got lunch nearby.

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated!

- Redwood Road from Oakland to Castro Valley -- maybe a little hairy with weekend traffic.
- Take Pinole Valley Road (from Pinole) out to Bear Creek and lunch/dinner in Orinda... or around San Pablo Dam... Definitely the easier and more relaxed than the first.

Rather than taking Pinole Valley rd from Pinole, take Wildcat Canyon from Berkeley over to Camino Pablo or Bear Creek.

My list of fun roads in the Berkeley area is:
Wildcat Canyon
Grizzly peak
Skyline
Redwood rd
Pinehusrt

bguy pretty much nailed all the common moto roads

the pavement on grizzly peak has been getting pretty rough so watch out for that (my 1st and only crash happened here when i was still pretty noob)
redwood and pinehurst can be pretty technical if you are still new to riding

This is a route i went on for a newbie group ride thru BARF. It's a little far from Berkeley, but really nice for practicing technique through more shallow, sweeping turns

Remember to take it easy if you've never been on the route before
Ride within your ability/vision and you should have no problem
