Sunday 8/10 North Bay (Berryessa/Middletown, etc, etc) Loop

Same here

Made it home just fine. Damn good ride today folks :thumbup

I won't be riding the next 2 Sunday's to prepare my Mille for the Track on the 24th at T-hill. But I'll be sure to return for the ride soon.

It was a pleasure riding with you all today. Next time I'll have my helmet camera and digital camera hook-up so I can record everyone riding.

Take care, be safe, sticky side down

Great ride today! For those that remained - it was the "epic" loop. 373.4 miles of incident-free fun on the OD.

I am sorry for the miscommunication about deciding to stop at the scene where Brad launched his R6 on Butts Canyon. I should have made sure that everyone knew so that nobody got spooked. A better idea would have been not to stop at all. Lesson learned.

Who were those two squids that rode like assholes on 121 then started shit at the Corners? I'd be surprised if those two idiots survived the summer.

I also heard about the near head-on on the decreasing radius RH turn on 175 into Hopland. Glad it turned-out OK.

Until next time - ride safe!

Uhh yeah.... that would be me. Ever have one of those days you think to yourself... "I shouldn't be out here"? That's how I was feeling from the start. I thought i'd shake it as the ride went on, but as I continued on, making mistake after mistake, staring at the grill of an F250 confirmed it... thought it was time to take myself out of the ride voluntarily so I can ride another day. If it wasn't an elderly couple driving that truck... pretty sure the results would have been different. Anyway, glad i'm still here.

Aaron, if you get a chance to ride an R1 and are interested in going that route, let me know...

Hey Tony, when you have those feelings, you need to hold back and not force the ride out of you. Your mind needs to be clear and focused. I'm sure you know it's not like driving a cage.

I also understand that you did some new mods to your bike. Check the rake on your triple clamps and make sure they are at the correct measurements. I had a problem with this on my Mille when changing the clip-ons.

All-in-all, glad you're okay and glad to see you had the discipline to call it quits when you thought it was time instead of forcing the ride out.

I'm sure you'll be back out on the roads soon. See ya next time.

Tony,

You are a better man than most for realizing that you weren't up to the task on this given day. :thumbup

Not much to tell... i'd guess a couple of locals (obviously knew the road really well) came flying by our group, passing pretty much anywhere, blind turns, around cars, oncoming traffic... your typical (hasn't crashed yet, so they don't think it will happen to them) squid. When they flew by me, I thought it was someone in our group, but happy to realize it wasn't since nobody was on an 03' gixxer 1k.

Got to the corners, and i'm sure they were talking crap about how they blew by a group of bikes... One guy had a riding suit (not leather) with electrical tape on the knees.... nice touch. Pretty much all I saw, unless anyone has anything to add...

Classic! I missed that.

You know, those kneepucks slow you down with all that added drag and all.

Yeah, that sure is something passing a group of sportbikes taking it easy behind heavy traffic.

I thought I heard one of them saying they spanked James Randolph at a recent dP event.

I bet those clowns could pull low 40's*at T-Hill.

* 2:40's....... :laughing

Oh man, you guys got smoked? that sucks!!!

Dude, we got anhilated - it was off the hizzie for shizzie!

I'm putting the GSX-R up for sale getting out of bikes.

yea so we were riding in a pack of 12 or so, getting by a group of about 3 cars. then blazing us from behind come these 2 bikes. i didnt realize they were there until one BLEW by my ass in the opposite lane (at least he did it safely), and then proceeded to make an essentially suicidal pass on a car mid corner on a left hand uphill bend. he got by w/o incident. i checked my mirrors and saw another rider comming up passing the BARFer behind me. this guy was quickly on my ass (and i wasnt going slow by any means, folks). a corner was comming up and i got to the right of my lane and waved him by - he went by real quick and leaned hard into the next corner.

yes, obviously locals that know the road REAL well, and obviously idiots b/c of how unsafely they passed both us, and the cars that WE were trying to get around... i respect their skillz for sure - but the one i saw pass on the uphill left hander was just asking to die.

hehe. Well, good luck on your new hobbie :) I'm sure there is plenty of thrills and socail interaction in the knitting scene :p

Yep that was a fun ride. the Epic ride is always a happy moment for me. It was nice meeting new people.

I didn't hear about the two guys before lunch but then... hooo they bad boys hurt some feelings that morning. Hehe.

Aaron you are damn fast for riding a bike like yours. The only guy I ever met that was as much at ease on a Super Hawk is motorcyclemaniac.

Phillipe,
Thanks! Likewise on the schoolbusa.
Yeah! Since I've owned it I've had several people tell me that it's a nice "cruiser" bike. What do you say we go cruising this Sunday?
I'll have to teach you how to smoke. HeHe

:hand If you're going to stop, planned or not, PULL OFF THE ROAD! :mad There will still be people stopping in the middle of the road, but at least most of the riders will be on the shoulder. That would have made dodging motorcycles a lot easier. (I was the second to the last rider and going well below speed limit when we came around that corner and nearly took many of you out.)

Please post prior to the ride if you're going to do a sightseeing tour. :confused Thanks. Otherwise good ride.

He already apologized, there's no need for profanity or yelling for that matter.

He was wrong and he admitted it. End of story.
