And I'm here on the bike rather than by car which means I can't hop out and take a nap.

Rats.

Happened to you before?

In one case of extreme desperation, I once laid down on the bathroom floor for a ten minute power nap.

Rode to work today too.
Asked my boss if I can sleep in her car -- slept like a baby for 30 minutes :p

Just ask one of your coworkers :)

There's a park near my office where I take a nap under a tree on days when I ride to work.

Perk for working at a start up. We have a room here called Holodeck. It is a room for musicians to play music (we have electronic kits) during some down time, or to go in and have a lil break. There are 2 gigantic massage chairs that people are welcome to use all day. So folks take their laptop to work or take a quick nap. :thumbup

No, never. Just drink coffee or have a red bull. If that doesn't work, get more adderall or something! :p

Actually, I used to get tired all the time when working on the computer for an extended period of time. I finally figured out that I needed glasses, that the squinting was causing me problems, which led to fatigue. Glad I solved that! :D

if the wife worked from home i could see working from home no longer being a perk...

just kidding i'm sure marriage is fckn AWESOME

on cup of coffee #6 problem today was an early start at 4AM, I knew it would torpedo me for the rest of the day.

Bodies have cycles. It's possible to be super sleepy one part of the day, not another. You might snap out of it.

My problem is that I get sleepy right at quitting time. To me, the motocycle ride home is stimulating enough though I have yawned in my helmet. It seems that my body wants to go night-night at 445 to about 6. When I go to the Y to lift weights then, I'm yawning at the machines, which feels so wrong.

Just make sure you are feeding your body sufficient protein and stay away from carbs. I find if I drank a bunch of beer over the weekend, there is a delayed reaction of random sleepiness the next day.

Yeah, if you eat the MMs right before you leave, maybe you can enjoy the sugar spike but otherwise, you crash harder after sugaring up on a delayed basis....anybody who hangs in the donut shop knows about that late morning plunge....

No parks nearby, parking lot isn't covered. Sleeping my car is extremely hot right now. Luckily I have an office. I just close the door, put my chair back, feet on the desk and try to sleep.

not senior enough to have an office :(

thought about going to the maternity room to knock out for an hour but kinda grosses me out thinking about all the busted pregnant titties popped out in there :/

The benefits of being the facilities manager of my company. I have a key to everything and have considered getting a cot in one of the electrical rooms for naps. We also have a dome in our demo room, that, when off, is the perfect place to nap. Many coworkers agree.
