The Home Grower's Thread

Got any extra room in that tent? I have a seeded gorilla and wedding cake clone that are going to cause some space issues in the shed. Both already in 5g pots that I planned to finish them in. They've been on 12/12 since 11/10.

Yeah I don't mind. I have only 4 plants right now.

Any plans to go see BL? Maybe he'd be kind enough to let me drop it there. Here's the cake, super nice plant. I might be able to keep the gorilla.

And the outdoor trimmed up super nice...

These are the good SunSystems 315's with the vertical bulbs.

Goddamn Byke. Looking good. Mine turned out ok, still hanging some and curing others. I didn't trim any of it.

Thanks, I'm super happy with it. Fed a little Mr. B's in veg and early flower, then hit it really hard with various organic stuff for three weeks, then flushed for three weeks. Holler if you guys want any. I wouldn't mind a nug of your guys' sativas. :)

I'll take the plant if youre giving it away :)

For sure you can have it, just need to find a good way to meet up.

Do they need to pipe cooling vents through them?

They don't need it, but these don't even have the ports for it. Just one 8" exhaust out of the 7.5' x 11.5' room with six 315's. They're great lights. Three would be perfect for a 4x8 tent, probably pull a couple lbs even from an average yielding strain if the environment were dialed in.

Auburn is far :) Do you ever come this way? I'd pay your expenses plus food if you come help tweak my setup.

Do you think they're better than LED lights? Do they use a lot of power? How many for a 4x4? 2?

I'm about an hour east of Sac, so not great for meeting bay folks. Maybe if you head out to Mike's sometime I could meet ya?

I've never used LED and have read some conflicting things about them, but I feel comfortable "knowing" they're at least good for veg. Two 315's in a 4x4 would be great as long as you can manage the heat. My guess is that each light tech has it's own strengths and weaknesses at various spectrums and the "ultimate" light would be a mix. If it were me and just because I like playing with this stuff, I'd probably have a 315 in the center with a square fixture surrounding it that has a 30-50 watt COB LED at each corner, for somewhere around 500 watts total. You generally want 50 watts per square foot, so I'm thinking a 3x3 tray in a 4x4 tent with 500 watts would be good.
