The Kitchen Appliance Brand Thread 2025

I mean, most manufacturers that produce everything are a Jack of all trades, masters of none. Samsung might be your best bet for one stop shopping, but I don't like their gas equipment.

I don't even own a microwave, it makes food texture weird. My kids broke the last one putting metal in it and I never replaced.

No Samsung appliances for me ever again. They make good electronics otherwise...

You can't cook a chicken in a toaster. But you can in a GE toaster oven.

The best toaster oven I ever had used three elements on the top and bottom, had convection mode, and had a built-in rotisserie feature. It was just large enough to fit a 3lb chicken.

Never seen one like it and it's replacement does not have the 3rd rails nor the tisserie :(

We bought a fancy ass Samsung fridge a few years ago. That thing cost an arm and a leg. And then it kept dying. Apparently there was a design flaw where the back of the fridge would get condensation which would freeze and build up and block the fan. After the fourth time my gf took a hammer to it. The entire thing. We bought a cheap ass frigidaire, which I am sure is still going strong (we moved). Fuck Samsung fridges.

I replaced my 25ish year old frigidaire with another one about 3 years ago... so far, it keeps all my food cold.

Fuck Samsung fridges.

Right in the Mouf! Not only do I have to take the thing apart to get rid of that ice buildup twice a year, the plastic drawer slides are broken, and the ice maker doesn't stop when full. Supposedly the compressor has a 10 year warranty.

And the gas range! All the chrome plated plastic knobs broke because the material was too thin around the shaft. The grates have score marks in the cast iron + and, yes, the grate on one side broke.

The only reason these appliances are still in use is because I am exceptionally handy.

p.s., I would also stay far away from any SMART appliance.

Got Samsung washer/dryer as the years#1 rated in 2012. Dryer circuitry repaired twice (months waiting on part) and ditched it the third time a few years later for a no frills whirlpool. First washer (a front loader) in the first week ran continuously for several hours due to sudsing? With a mere thimble of detergent. Traded it back for top loader which has been good. No more front loader for me. Sounded like a jet, can’t add things later, if stuck can’t drain it to open door(ask me how I know). Agree on fewer smart functions for repairability. Have fun in the discovery phase and hope your home design rocks.

You can get some crazy rebates for certain models and if you get a couple from the same brand you can get even more rebates.

I like Airport Home appliance.
