The Official 2012 NFL Thread

Most likely he was leaving all along because Oregon is about to get massively hit by the NCAA for something shady. Recruiting violations or some shit.

He played Philly for more money I bet.

Phil Knight was going to make a massive donation to keep him at Oregon.

I haven't heard of anything serious coming towards Oregon's way....

Since we are in an era of wildcat, options, etc., I guess its a good fit. He helped create what is big right now...but he might have to trade and trade to get the personnel he needs. I didn't see many Eagles games this year after getting tired of watching them lose, so I'm not sure about the offensive players fitting his scheme.

One of those NFL expert shows guys said that a college coach needs young players because the older vets just don't buy the rah-rah stuff....

Nick Saban is 2nd only to Bobby Petrino as the best college coach to try the NFL and fail for exactly that reason.

Spurrier, too, and Pete Carroll until right now in Seattle.

Yeah, they were on it.

This was the list compiled in 2008....

NFL Networks Top 10 Coaches Who Belonged in College

10. John McKay
9. Pete Carroll
8. Dick MacPherson
7. Nick Saban
6. Dennis Erickson
5. Bill Peterson
4. Bud Wilkinson
3. Steve Spurrier
2. Lou Holtz
1. Bobby Petrino

Classic John McKay quip when asked about his team's (0-14 Bucs) execution: "I'm all for it!"

That alone should keep him off the list.... :laughing

Of course, this was before Petrino had his troubles at Arkansas and before Carroll has had his current success. (EDIT: Thought Saban was higher, forgot about Holtz... ooops.)

Sad faces in Oregon and kinda classless to decide, then undecide.

Since college coaches are known to dominated and control the lives of their players, I guess he'll be giving petcare tips to Vick. Nyuk.

He's got his work cut out; hard to believe he won't be yet another scapegoat in about a year from now.
he'll do a nick saban and be back in the cozy confines of college in a couple of years. then he'll say some bullshit about how his heart was always in college ball (and far away from the east coast media vultures). as a cal alum, i'm glad he's out of the pac-12. hopefully oregon will fuck up the hire and they can sink back to the mediocrity they've enjoyed for most of their history.

This season went exactly how I asked for when it was beginning. I'm not crying, I have a greater plan in mind...

;)
mike you're so full of shit. you take championships when you can get them, because they may not come around again. take your greater plan bullshit and start a cult. :hand

more likely explanation: you realized the giants weren't really that good. so you boldly predicted they wouldn't win this year. here's some more paint for that turd of yours...

And they say I'm dark!!!!!!:laughing:laughing

Just makes you want sing "Let's Call the Whole Thing Off."

Not while Nike is bankrolling them.

Don't forget the "Nike Curse"!:laughing

... And now news is breaking that Teo's girlfriend, the one that he used to inspire ND through the season, never existed?

Edit: his girlfriend was an "online" girlfriend. Oy vey.

LOL, why don't you take your bitter-ass home and go bounce some more punts of off your knee. :laughing I've always been straight as hell about football on this board. When my guys play badly, I say they played badly. When we get beat, I don't make a bunch of piss poor excuses and when I say I don't want this year because I want my guys to want it real BAD next year, I mean it. We're plenty good, finished the season with a winning record and stomped a mudhole in your chump ass team in their house AGAIN this year. I ain't mad, like I said, shit went just how I said I wanted at the beginning of the season. Now NEXT YEAR, if we don't get that ring, I WILL be mad. ;)

:wow Huh? You predicted they were going to suck the first half of 2011 and then come alive 2nd half, get hot in the playoffs and win? And then be the raining superbowl champs the following season and predict no superbowl?

Aside from maybe the Browns and Dolphins, I dont think any fan goes into the season saying "We're not gonna make the playoffs" Not buying it. The Giants with Eli always have a chance. I think your stance just softens the blow that they didnt make the playoffs.

As I'm getting older (31) I get more and more entertained by those that "predict" games, seasons, scores. It's for nothing. How many experts picked the Broncos to win? :laughing I just root for my team and look for entertainment. Then again, I've never done fantasy sports and wont either. I think it's ruining sports.
