The Vaccine Thread.

I asked if you if you were concerned that, despite large percentages of populations taking advantage of the vaccine, there is no measurable difference in death.

I answered correctly. It is concerning, but it's not enough to draw a conclusion, so we need more information.

You respond by telling me we should ask questions and then talking about antivaxxers and caring about others? It's getting harder and harder to keep up with the mental gymnastics that are going around.

That's because we all look the same, but I assure you that I do not want antivaxxers dying of Covid and do not take pleasure when it happens.

How can you say that? If that was fact, there would be a measurable difference in death across the entire population, considering 80% of the country is vaccinated (Canada). Definitely a big enough difference to see on a graph.

https://www.statista.com/statistics/1257040/number-covid-deaths-canada-by-vaccination-status/

As of January 8, 2022, there have been around 8,285 confirmed deaths due to COVID-19 among unvaccinated Canadians since the start of the national vaccination campaign in December 2020. In contrast, just 1,565 (13.8%) COVID-19 deaths were reported among those with full vaccination status during the same time period. This statistic illustrates the number of confirmed COVID-19 deaths in Canada from December 14, 2020 to January 8, 2022, by vaccination status.

I'm not sure how you are measuring death. Your earlier example, Israel, shows a moving daily average is the same as the highest previous wave. However, infections are up ~700%.

Canada is showing ~500% increase in infections, but again the number of deaths is roughly the same as previous waves.

And a significant number of those hospitalized and dead were unvaccinated.
:dunno

oh wait, like I said statistics are a funny thing.

https://nationalpost.com/health/what-hospitalization-data-really-say-about-covid-19-vaccines

But those same data actually do clearly illustrate the positive impact of vaccination, though seeing it requires a bit more context and number-crunching. The simpler, false analysis is what Raywat Deonandan, a University of Ottawa epidemiologist, called the “base-rate fallacy” in a recent blog post. It also underlines how the raw epidemiological facts of the pandemic have become a weapon of sorts in the vaccine wars.

Same updated chart, week later. January 8 to January 15 death toll is 194 for unvaccinated and 467 for vaccinated. Both combined is pretty high weekly number for country with such high vaccination rate. Which I believe is the point, death toll does not look good considering 80% is vaxxed, looks more like number before vaccine.
What % needs to be vaxxed to stop this? 90%? 100%?

Its saying 70 percent of the deaths and hospitalizations are unvaxxed...?

Which has nothing to do with my post. Try to follow up. It is about time when 80% of population is vaccinated.

So...you wish more people were vaccinated to help protect the unvaccinated?

Hey smarty pants, the chart I posted is deaths, not cases. Try and keep up :rofl

You're totally right that cases should be up and deaths down with a more infectious, less lethal variant, right? Nice vaccine bro!

You're rather slow, Canada currently has about 4 times the infections than it has ever had, and that's the reported ones.

Israel has 4 times their highest count as well of new cases, again that is reported.

In both cases neither is anywhere near twice their highest death rate.

More likely than not, both countries have their share of Covidiots who aren't getting vaccinated.

But, don't let the facts keep you from taking things out of context.

The Dunning Krueger is strong with you. :laughing

Deaths are a percentage of cases. More cases means more deaths. And yes, if a variant is less lethal the number of deaths would be less…relative to the number of case

Try this out:
1% of 100,000 = 1,000
0.5% of 400,000 = 2,000

You shouldn’t have dropped out of college

Early in the pandemic the hope was we’d get enough people vaccinated to where the virus would die out. That was never going to happen, so now it’s just a matter of we have ways to limit damage and move on. We seem past the point where we’ll see the tragedies like happened in NYC and Italy. Now we can just expect a constant load on our health care system. Vaccines are proven to reduce that load and improve the risk at an individual level.

Take it or don’t, but don’t confuse your personal sensibilities (e.g. mistrust) with logic.

That's lots of hoops to jump through to avoid saying "if the vaccine worked, there should be a dent in deaths with a less lethal variant." I don't think you're slow, it just seems like a part of your brain might not be functioning properly? Maybe it's a side effect of being a vax-supremacist?

That's rich coming from somebody who doesn't know what a contrarian is :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl a more apt title for you would be "big pharma bootlicker" or "clot shot shill"

Einstein, how was that supposed to happen when the vaccine does nothing to prevent spread, only limit symptoms?

I'm not sure what you were commenting on, it seems unrelated to what I posted.

What part of greater than 4 times as many (reported) infections with about the same number of deaths didn't you get?

The Omicron version is less deadly, but there is also the factor of vaccination helping to bring the deaths down. There is plenty of proof (real proof, not the version you're pushing) that the vaccine significantly reduces the chance of being hospitalized and of dying.

I'm not sure why it's so hard for you to accept that, if you're making an effort to do so instead of just plain trolling.

It's funny that you continually insult people and can't figure out how to do multiple quotes.

Any chance you want to actually have conversations and not insult people?

I'm guessing I already know the answer.

And yet deaths are highest for the unvaccinated.

That has not changed.

14% of Israeli Adults Are Unvaxxed.

They Account for 100% of ECMO Patients.

As the omicron variant spreads like wildfire in Israel, a clear pattern emerges:

Israelis who are unvaccinated against COVID, less than a fifth of adult population, are quickly filling up Israel's hospital beds.

The correlation in Israel between disease severity and vaccination status seems to be following the pattern of the United States, where omicron hit full force several weeks earlier, according to Dr. Oren Kobiler, a researcher in immunology and clinical microbiology at Tel Aviv University.

In New York, almost 90 percent of COVID hospitalizations are of unvaccinated people, Kobiler notes.

The only reason I started posting here was because all of you vax-supremacists were piling on somebody who dared say that he decided not to get vaccinated because he didn't think the risk was worth it. I was not the one who started insulting people, go back and watch the escalation of insults being hurled my way. Also, hey congratulations big guy for being able to "multiple quote" on a dying forum.

My goal is not to change anybody's mind nor have rational discussion at this point because it's impossible with highly indoctrinated people, but it's just hilarious to see the the arrogance and assumptions made from people on the side of the shot. I've done a lot of reading and unbiased contemplation of all sides and all of the data that has come out regarding COVID and the shot, while it seems like everyone on the side of the shot regurgitates the same dirty data and talking points while shooting down anything that doesn't line up with their programming.

Good luck to all of you guys and be sure to take half an aspirin daily as a preventative measure because heart attacks, strokes, and other serious outcomes are up big time.
