There's only one Budman

I didn't know you were sponsored by Cycle Imports back in the day. Was that during either Mike Glisson's or John Sullivan's ownerships?
It was South Bay Suzuki first. The Dad and 3 bros.
They sold the shop and Mike G picked up the KSJO thing. They picked up Wobbie Goldfarb too. Solid mechanic and racer. Did two years with him and maintained a friendship for a while.

:rip Mike.

Get well soon Budman, it could happen to anyone

Heal up Budman!

I guess you can't say that you got injured doing what you loved doing, unless walking down stairs in socks is something you loved doing. :twofinger

Best wishes for full and speedy recovery.

I saw whispers of a "Bud fall" posted elsewhere and had to dig around to find this to find what happened.

BOMBAS gripper slippers
Awesome company is awesome.
For every pair of socks they sell, they donate a pair to the homeless.
One of the few companies I can think of that's stuck by their original benevolent mission statement.
When doing outreach with the homeless, the best currency we have is new socks. They call them "freshies".
I simply can't say enough good things about this company.
They also happen to make one helluva good product too, by the way.
Please buy Bombas socks!

Awww shit. Sorry to hear Bud. Hopefully you dont go stir crazy in the next few months and the pain isnt too bad.

I met Budman in the late 80s and our story begins at the racetrack. He was on his last years of racing and I was just beginning my career in AFM. We met through the owner of Cycle Imports, which was sponsoring Budman at the time and the owner wanted to start helping me so he introduced us to one another. He took me under underneath his wing and showed me the ropes on how to compete at the highest level in club racing.

Since those days he became more than a friend to me. I was his best man at his wedding and he was mine. I could honestly say that he is more than a friend and still is to this day. He's my brother. Our passion for motorcycles has kept that bond tight. He has shared his passion with so many racers and motorcyclists alike. He has sponsored quite a few racers in his time to keep the passion burning. He included me in a lot of the BARF race teams in the past with the people he has helped. He really is a great soul as so many of you probably already know by going on the motorcycle rallies and getting to know him. Without him we wouldn't have this website. For some of you that don't know he was fully involved and part of the fact that why we're able to split lanes in California. He's an awesome dad and husband and grandfather. We have been through a lot over the years and I cherish this man's friendship.

On Friday afternoon I received a text from him that was not good news. He told me that he had slipped down his stairwell and he thought he broke his hip. I texted him back and said you're kidding, right? He said no I'm not joking. So he got an ambulance ride to the hospital where he stayed overnight and had surgery to repair a broken femur close to the hip. I'm sharing this news about my friend because I know he means a lot to some of you people on this forum.

So let's take this moment to send some good vibes and get well wishes to a very special person in my life. Get well Budman so we can ride side by side again someday soon. Hang tough. Love you Bro. 👊🏼🏍

Awesome story, thanks for sharing!

I met budman in the mid 80s and our story begins at the racetrack. Actually, I met him on a Lockheed SCIF project. He was the architect. Then we crossed paths at the racetrack, budman, a podium finisher on a Gamma and I was a backmarker on my RZ 350.
But actually, the story really doesn’t start until BARF in 2002 when I started moderating and riding with him a bunch.

BARF changed my life. Thanks Denny.
