This is a Hate Thread!!!

I hate the guy that falls into the tough guy cruiser persona so they back it up by trying to crap your day.

"I'm fat, I have a cruiser, I have a tattoo, I pull up next to you and talk shit."

I love the rest of the guys that fit that persona, aside from the last part.

or jello :thumbup

In my high school yearbook, there was literally an entire page of Nguyen's.

How come so many Vietnamese people have that last name?

(Throughout Vietnamese history, many events contributed to the name's prominence. In 1232, after usurping the Lý Dynasty, Trần Thủ Độ forced the descendants of the Lý to change their surname to Nguyễn. When Hồ Quý Ly overturned the Trần Dynasty, he killed many of their descendants so when the Hồ Dynasty collapsed in 1407, many of his descendants changed their surname to Nguyễn in fear of retribution. In 1592, on the collapse of the Mạc Dynasty, their descendants changed their surname to Nguyễn and Lều. When the Nguyễn Dynasty (the descendants of the Nguyễn Lords) took power in 1802, some of the descendants of the Trịnh Lords fearing retribution changed their surname to Nguyễn, while others fled north into China. The Nguyễn Dynasty awarded many people the surname Nguyễn during their rule, and many criminals also changed their surname to Nguyễn to avoid prosecution. Thus, many people having this surname are not necessarily related.[3]

In Vietnamese custom as with other East Asian cultures, the surname precedes the given names. Like many surnames in Vietnam and other Chinese-influenced cultures (including Korea and Japan), the name Nguyễn is shared with those in Chinese culture with the same surname. The Chinese/Hán Tự character for Nguyễn is 阮, which refers to a moon-shaped lute instrument called ruan (Mandarin))))

I hate when someone who is barely an acquaintance says she gave my number to a friend (that I don't even know)
that will be in town and wants to borrow a bike!!
I hate that the fact that I have more than one bike lets people assume I am willing to lend them out!
(this is 100% not directed to anyone on BARF breath again)
I also hate when said acquaintance doesn't appreciate the rarity of my little Hondacatis.

How come so many Vietnamese people have that last name?

How come so many people of English descent have the last name "Smith", or so many people of Welsh descent have the name "Jones"?

I knew an Indian woman with the last name "Patel", and I said as a joke, "there's another "Patel" on the second floor, are you relations?", and she said, "He's my brother".

Oh, and they were both Oracle DBAs.

:teeth

Stefan

Patel is the traditional innkeeper's caste in India. The first Patels to come to the US all owned motel 6's. For real.

I hate that I'm about to say that I hate that I read this entire thread.

And I also hate that I replied to two of the posts!
