Thot Audit

No shit. You have to be one seriously betty bitch to do that sort of shit.

I lived in an HOA in the past. Had a neighbor who apparently had some strings of Christmas lights in the tree in his front yard. He nor I even knew they were there. Previous owner must have put them up and left them. Some really, really bored, vindictive motherfucker was looking really hard for shit to write up. Special place in hell for people like that.

Check it out, lots of law around stuff like fence height and code enforcement. If you make it to the end you can learn about spite fences!

"substantial performance" is also covered in here.

What if it negatively affects society and even though it may not affect you you feel certain rules should be enforced? (not petty like x-mas lights)

I think most laws are made because people are jerkoffs. Or at least, there are a large number of jerkoffs in the world.

He didn't just get written up for that. He got something else that I can't remember and I got something about a plant in the yard not being approved or some shit.

How you like getting a letter that they're gonna put a lien on your house because some stupid plant. Ripped it out and boom, fixed.

Meanwhile, the asshole across the street had a 3' high lawn and a sofa on the porch.

All about who you know, I guess.

I’m petty but if the person hasn’t broken the rules then they need not fear the rule enforcers.
Don't be too over-confident, I'm sure that there is some obscure rules that a motivated neighbor could nail you on if they were sufficiently motivated..especially if they were willing to set up up, like putting out your garbage cans ($500 fines) while you were away on vacation.

My HOA doesn’t enforce the garbage can thing but I ensure I put mine away. I meant more like when I reported the dude who parks his car in the sidewalk to avoid street cleaning.

Parking your car on the sidewalk is an abuse of the commons, and should absolutely be addressed. Parking your own car in your own driveway with expired tags? Nobody's goddamn problem, MYOFB.

Word. Buddy of mine had to sell a project car cuz of that shit. Bish down the street didn't cuz her dad knew the mayor.

What are your thoughts on people parking vehicles on their own front lawn? Serious question

I know you didn't ask me but I'd say it might be aesthetically displeasing and there might be laws against it in your city. That said I'd never report such a person solely for that. It's not MY lawn.

I saw the car I reported today back in its usual spot, the wind and rain blew off the cover, it's an old Malibu from the 70s?

No problem with it here. I used to park my truck on a dirt patch in my parents front yard. After I moved, I was back at the house one day and some busybody drove by and stopped to say how glad he was it was moved. I told him to mind his own fucking business and I'd park where I damn please. He did not like that one bit :laughing

In Montreal, hundreds of people have illegal car tents during the winter due to having driveways but no garages. I don't know if its enforced.

You know what kills me living in the sticks, is how people look at you as you go by. In town, nobody looks or cares, but out here, people's heads turn to stare at you as you go by and they do it with their mouth open with the dumbest effing look on their face. Can't stand it.

On the local nextdoor app there's been a lot of posts about people getting tickets for parking their vehicles on their front lawn. Against city ordinance. Pretty much with you guys, it's trash af, but it is your property. I don't think id ever call it in unless it's a legit safety hazard like parked on a corner of a serious intersection and it blocks line of sight or something like that, but im not losing any sleep when the city is handing out fines for non safety related cases either.
