Titling a frame

Here's the situation:

I bought a crashed bike (06 zx6r). The original frame was destroyed, the bike was a salvage title. The previous owner had purchased a frame from a dealership in florida (which is now out of buisness), which didn't come with any paperwork. He wrote out a bill of sale to me for both the new frame, and the old engine that came out of his bike. I verified that he owned the engine via the salvage title, which he also signed over to me.

Is there any way for me to title this motorcycle? Can I just show up to the DMV with the bill of sale and have it taken care of? The PO said the dealership just said it came off a crashed bike, but didn't include any additional information or paperwork. Can I use the bill of sale with the new frame to update the information on the salvage title and get it registered again? It's a total loss salvage.

At the moment, the bike, frame, and engine are all in seperate pieces.

I've investigated a fair bit via the DMV site, but considering that the "original owner", the dealership, is out of buisness, I'm sort of out of leads at the moment.

Its a classic Salvage title procedure.
First DMV visit is to get te paper work going. Bring the Salvage title and Bill of sale for the frame. Tell the clerk the engine from the salvage title and frame from this bill of sale. If they know what their doing they'll give you the forms to fill out. Fill them out right then and there and return to the clerk.
They'll Ask for fees, sales tax(salvage bike). Roughly $120-$200, good news thats pays for everything including the plate later on. There'll be a top sheet on the paper work with instructions on what to do next. CHP VIN inspection and Brake, lamp check. They'll give temporary tags to ride on the street for the inspections.

Yes the bike is good to get registered.

Unless they ask about the old title to the frame, don't mention it. The bill of sale and CHP VIN inspection should take care of it.
But if they want some sign off signatures or old title on the frame. You have no way to contact the Florida business. Say so in a DMV form 'Statement of Fact'. Explain the business is no longer. no way to contact them. That'll satisfy DMV.

Been there done that :p
