Todays ride 7.26.05

Ok.. But this guy can ride hella good.

1) middle looks pretty worn down for what ever reason.
2) chicken strips are not just sold at fast food joints :p

But we know having chicken strips isn't THE indicator of how fast of a rider someone is. The combination of everything I have seen isn't pretty.

Ok.. I know most of you guys are gonna pick him apart. But this guy can ride hella good. Even if he is a lil :instance. Hes new to the board so show him some BARF luv...............wait.... you are showing him BARF luv.:laughing

Whether or not he's a great rider is irrelevant. Being a great rider is nearly useless when a cager does something stupid like change lanes into yours, or turns left in front of you or crosses the double yellow. He'd be smarter if he put on some gear. His body, his choice. I love his bike, but put the damn pipe back on it. :rolleyes

i like those exhausts on R1's. isnt it called a mirage or something like that, that utilizes the exup valve. id rock one on the R6 if i could...

Nobody can hear anything when he's anywhere near. I'm sure. And it's really good for the engine.:wtf

Isn't muffler used to minimize the noise? I don't get it, can somebody plz explain :confused

Muffler != exhaust pipe. But still, this guy is asking for a ticket with the license plate, lack of blinkers, and the volume. The gear thing I'll let others comment on.

The muffler also provides back-pressure on the engine, and the factory tunes the air/fuel ratio based on the stock pipe's backpressure. If you change to a slip-on, you reduce the backpressure and potentially get a couple more ponies, but your mixture gets sub-optimal. That's why people re-jet/re-map bikes with aftermarket exhausts. If that little stubby pipe keeps the ex-up valve, might help mitigate the issue, i don't know enough about Yammies.

On a side note, can you define what's considered riding "hella good"?

Anyway, as the old saying goes, "I'd rather sweat than bleed."

I bought it wit it already on the bike

The Mirage Slip-On is a distinctive new exhaust system that brings you the sound and performance of a conventional slip-on while giving your R1 an innovative custom look. The Mirage works in conjunction with Yamaha's EX-UP valve technology to create a low profile appearance that blends in with the dynamic shape of the Yamaha R1. The system is fully hidden from behind and provides an unobstructed view of the rear tire and suspension. Whether you're looking for a finishing touch to your custom project or simply looking to upgrade your exhaust system, the Mirage will provide you with a stylish performance edge that's competitive with other conventional aftermarket systems.

:rolleyes missed the point, but whatever. i got a couple tickets when my gixxer plate was like that, and the turn signals/exhaust noise are sure to attract attention - no more than your average harley for noise, but there seems to be a different scale for some reason. anyway, looked like a nice day for a ride.

Ya'll should know that riding sportbikes these days are about swoopin' up on the bitches and hoes, chillin' with the boyz, cruisin' the strip, and doing what you want to do cuz that's what you do.

I have absolutely zero doubt in my mind that he'll get a ticket the first time he passes a cop who pays attention to such things.

As to 'hella good rider', everything is relative and subjective. ;)
