Tore my Tyre while mounting

So I managed to tear some of the side wall while trying to mount my rear Tyre. Gave up after seeing the tear . Is this still safe to use ? I mainly use these tyres on the track so it won't have any street miles

That looks pretty minor. I cant imagine an issue there.

The air sealing surface looks mostly intact.

Tears like you did in the photos affect the tire sealing integrity... like will it hold
air or not??? whereas damaging a tires bead effects strength integrity... will it
stay on the rim or not???

Ugh guess I'll see when i get it mounted if it leaks air or not

I've read there is a bead sealer

Look at the gouged area carefully. If there are torn fibers, frankly I wouldn't use it. If it's only rubber, then I'd probably use it as long as it was a rear tire and I remembered to knock he tire's speed rating down a notch or two. If a front tire, don't think I'd risk it.

After looking over the tyre again I found another gash that showed fibers in the tyre. Think ill just toss the tyre

Sounds like a good plan - when in doubt, throw it out.
