Trackday riders, would you try racing AFM if we had Novice/Sportsman classes??

Although I think new racers should stay at least a couple of races or so to get used to being in a racing environment before being thrown in with the REALLY fast guys, this is a good start.

So I gather, there will be no awards for being top sportsman since the Top Novice would be racing on Sunday right?

They will get more than a few races, minimum three, one for each track. See Greg's post in racers forum.

It should be noted that this requirement must be met at EACH TRACK. So if you're new, you'll need to prove 115% at each track before you can graduate to the standard races.

I think there should be awards for podium clubman, its a great entry for new racers and maybe the only ones they'll get once racing inside of 115% against the AMA fast club members.

No, you can't go beat up on new racers - no cherrypicking!

what if racers who enter but qualify for sunday be disqualified for any points standings or trophies for clubman?

personally, i just want the seat time on saturday and i'm not sure how much will be available w/ these added clubman races.

Tilted, thanks for clarifying that, as a new racer in 06 Id like some time in my class before making the jump.

I agree with you as well w/ the clubman award. Gives the new racer some incentive to step it up a bit.
