TV Shows I am enjoying …and Movies

One Fast Move

This movie is super cheesy but it's a motorcycle movie and I felt obligated to watch it. And it's based on the race track, not a street racing movie, or about a motorcycle gang, so there's that.

"After serving time for a high-speed motorcycle chase, Wes arrives with barely any money and tracks down Dean, who is long past his prime and working at a local bike shop alongside an older mentor named Abel. Dean reluctantly agrees to train Wes, and the grueling physical demands of motorcycle racing force the two to confront years of emotional abandonment. While in town, Wes also meets and falls in love with Camila, a local aspiring singer and mother."

Watched "The Triangle of Sadness" on Netflix. Excellent muted humor acting and script. Think people here will love the theme! One of my fav of the last few years.
 
Just finished "Run Away", adapted from novel by Harlan Coben. Eight episodes on Netflix.

Fun stuff, not too silly. Just watched a season 2 episode with a moto chase that was a bit silly. But hey, good characters, hawt chicks, so…

It was "meh" in some of the best ways for me. I knew it was going to be meh going into it so there was no way I could be disappointed. Enjoyed it for what it was.

At least they tried to make a movie about road racing motorbikes.

For car racing, movies like Ford vs Ferrari, F1 was kinda cheesy. Gran Turismo... based on an actual event that happened (with a lot of fictional movie magic) we're never going to get those kind of movies about motorcycles that aren't modern popcorn enjoyable movies.

But hey, at least you watched it!

Not even close.

It's a 'popcorn flick'. I only mentioned it because we're all riders (well most of us) and many of us riders have put our laps in on the track know what is and what isn't.

For me, martial arts is my tied with my favorite passion of motorcycles and that movie was like watching martial arts movies that are so ridiculous in all the best ways.

Just one man's opinion.
 
Well, after year of avoiding it, I have delved into the Anne Rice TV cornucopia on Netflix and I can say it isn't terrible, although some of the Vampire Chronicle rewrites are painful for devotees of the books.

Interview seems to be the best written and produced, The Talamasca was kind of OK, and I am just now reviewing the Mayfair Witches, which is a series I never actually read. That one is annoyingly vague about what is going on for quite a few episodes, but as long as Alexandra Daddario is the lead character, I will probably watch anything, lol.

I just started this, just 2 episodes in. I noticed they had an "Interview with a Vampire" series and I was going to try that. NF described "Mayfair Witches" as "soapy", so I was going to pass on that.

I'm not an Anne Rice fan (not an un-fan, just not into vampires). But these looked like a refreshing change from all the spy ops little girls with big guns stuff that all over NF right now.

Oh, and Little House on the Prairie (4 eps in I think) is holding up. This is a really good show. No "action" as of yet, but good period drama.
