BARFers - I'm testing waters for my 999S / 1098 build as the project pipeline starts to fill up again.

Build thread is here.

Basics
Mileage: 14-15k have to check exact mileage, will continue to go up as the weather permits
Title: Clean CA title - full disclosure: I bought it with a salvage WA title but the DMV kindly (mistakenly?) issued a clean title - frame is straight, front and rear end are clean - from a 1098.
Price: $8k OBO

Maintenance:
10k: Belts, air filters, spark plugs, oil, filter, etc, new battery,
13k: Oil/filter change, new Barnett Clutch
14k: New pilot power 2CT tires, new chain and sprockets; 1098 front and rear end installed, frame-up build (dogbone modification, custom exhaust, tank strip and clear coat, headlight and gauge mount, etc.) on my jig

Build Specs
Motor / Frame
2005 Ducati 999S motor and frame. The title says 999, I did at one point contact Ducati customer service and they confirmed the engine number matches a 999S engine number. Running stock 999S airbox with aftermarket intake filters. Custom exhaust using 999S manifolds, equal length 2 into 1 single 3" side exhaust and a DanMoto MotoGP titanium muffler. Sounds glorious, has removable DB killer.
Other upgrades:
- Speedymoto EVO water pump cover
- Speedomoto crank case cover
- Speedymoto open clutch cover
- Upgraded clutch slave cylinder
- Gilles rear sets
- Corbin seat
- CSC hyperpro steering damper

Front End
Running 2008 Ducati 1098 forks, calipers, wheel, carbon fiber front fender, stainless steel brake lines - all mounted to 999 triples. For asking price I will include the Brembo 19mm radial master cylinder. It is running an ABM / LSL handlebar kit which gives a more upright riding position.

Custom front dual PIAA headlights and gauge mount, I can work with the new owner to build something specific for the front end (i.e., a 1098 upper fairing set up for track duty) at additional cost.

Rear End
1098 swingarm and shock, with modified dogbone to work with 999 frame mount (machined and aligned dogbone with new bearings + spacer installed) Trimmed, plugged, and powdercoated subframe, custom mounted license plate and tail light under seat.

Other
The gorgeous 999 tank was stripped down to bare metal (i.e., huge PITA), polished, and clear coated. It looks fantastic. There are other bits here and there that I'll add in as I remember them, a lot of attention to detail went into this bike and build.

This would be a great street / track bike. It's stupid, scary fast - to be honest... the riding position inspires hooliganism and combined with the Corbin seat is very comfortable. If a buyer wants to change or update little things, I'm happy to make changes to suit the intended purpose of the bike.

Please PM me if interested or if you have any specific questions.

To whoever buys this: please be from Oakland and let's be friends.

Tempting, but I'm prioritizing cash deals for now. Thanks y'all for the comments.

that is badassnesses! I'd jump on this if it were three months down the road.

Bump - the bike can also be sold with 999 front forks (fresh service, stiffer springs) and brakes for $7.5k. If it doesn't sell in the next ~2 weeks I will swap the 999 front end and offer the 1098 forks + brakes as an upgrade.

Why the fork change? Also, interested on the video, whenever possible. Tks.

I'd like to use the 1098 forks on another track bike build and to knock a couple hundred off the price of this bike. The 999 forks are freshly serviced and are a fantastic pair of forks - the calipers are axial mounted instead of radial and a bit smaller.

Bump - updated pics. Bike now has 999 front forks, red fender, and clip ons.

Bar end mirrors going on this week, also added a front sprocket cover which is not on in the pics.
