twisties around nyc....?

I can't vouch for those guys either way, but I will say that 95% of NYC riders are posers when compared to Cali riders. I would suggest you ride with some of my friends from the forum in my sig, but most of us got tired of 550 mile Sunday rides* and just ride the track now.

np CBR. Glad I could help. Oh, yeah, they play them every Monday after the MotoGP and WSBK rounds. Speaking of that...is there any place in the Bay Area that does that sort of thing?

...i will definitely be there for future races. though i don't know if i can wait til monday to see them.
and yes...in SF. there's ace cafe on the corner of 14th and mission. i'm not sure what they're doing this season but last season they showed the motogp race at 3:00 on sundays and the moto2 race after it usually. they also showed wsbk when it didn't conflict with motogp. its a good motorcycle bar with a crew of regulars who make the place home.

Good to know. Thanks for the info. :thumbup

...i'm looking forward to some long sunday rides* myself. one of the things, if not THE thing, i miss the most about the bay area was THE Sunday Morning Ride. those gentlemen are truly gifted and inspiring... i am proud to say i diced up with them as best i could. if there is anything like that around here i will find it, and when i do i'll show 'em how we do in Cali...

What do you think of East Coast riding now?

Hi Bison,

Hope the move back east is going well ... What has your motorcycle experience been like back east? I lived in central New Jersey until I moved to San Francisco when I was 30 ... In larry kahn's hometown ... ha. (we used to race at the old Loudon together.)

I loved riding in Hunterdon and Bucks counties in the Fall ...

God Bless New Jersey,

...Hey SFMCjohn...just saw this...there are rarely any posts in this section...
NYC is a grind. It has it perks but, especially as far as motorcycles are concerned, i am not happy here. There is a lot of fun to be had...so, so much to do here...but I know now for sure, that motorcycles are an integral part of my happiness. not just in a 'i get to ride them every now and again' kinda way, but in a 'i need to have a good ride every day or so to keep myself sane and happy kinda way.'
good rides are too far away...and once i've battled nyc traffic for an hour or more to get to a decent ride, the calibur of the roads is disappointing. it is nice to see some different terrain and makes some actual fall/winter camping trips (the catskills and aadirondacks are beautiful) but its just too difficult to do on a daily or regular basis. cops out here are the worst...the absolute worst. where cali cops all seems to ride and somewhat respect bikes, cops out here seem to have an unusual disdain for motorcycles. ...add no right turn on red and no legal 'lane-sharing' to the equation and it all adds up to no fun.
i miss the bay area terribly...i am beginning to develop my exit strategy...

1) I'd rather see yous guys deliver it personally,
2) You should start cooking stuff with FIVE leaves. (nice site though)

Would love to. Since the wife likes farm fresh leaves we might have to source out some lights and compost.

WOW! Sums up my feelings of the entire east coast as well.

Moved here 6 months ago - hate it.

I have found some semi-decent roads ~90 miles north but as far quality - CA spoiled me and I took it for granted.

Let me know if you ever want to go for a Sunday cruise - I usually end up doing some sort of 400mile sport-touring jaunt up in the catskills just to get out of the gridlock.
