Yes, except the reasons are different. Mine is out of curiousity and a sense of adventure along with rediscovering a piece of history. Imagining the people that used to work at the abandoned factory building or patients at the shuttered psych ward. Does anyone pass by old decrepit buildings along the highway and just feel the urge to take a peek. Photo shooting would be fun to!

Sounds like you're talking about central waterfront area and a mental hospital at potrero hill? I've been around the central waterfront area but I've only heard of the mental hospital. I don't know where that is exactly. I heard it was secured by motion sensors though. I've been wanting to check out some more factories, potrero hill area, and treasure island. If you want to meet up to explore, shoot me a PM. I've never actually had the balls to climb fences and stuff like that, but I'd be down.

The SF Presidio has bunkers, barracks and various buildings, Treasure Island, the former Alameda Naval Air Station, all good spots for urbex

ahhaa o0o0...we have a few abandoned buildings but im too chicken to check it out....:laughing

I love urban exploring. I've got good boots and a tetanus shot and i'm not afraid to use them! Did it on and off back in Texas (lots of abandoned houses and towns in the countryside as well as half-done buildings that ran out of money during the dot-bomb) but haven't done any since moving to Frisco.

Thats awesome. I wouldnt say SF is very dangerous, but even the nice areas I dont feel very comfortable being out there late late into the night. Although the area around the waterfront, which had many homeless people felt "safe."

I do. I like to check out and shoot graff and urban decay.
