Usal Road?

Went up last week in the Rover with a g friend. All spurs off of Usal rd locked until Needle Rock at the northern end. Only a couple of short spurs off Kings Range open. Nothing that couldnt be done on a large street bike (heck even sport bike with a little care imo). Great views, fun camping on beach, hiking. But seemed to lack any adventure quality to it. With all the great riding offroad in the Mendo Ntl forest and Sierras just as close..... what is the draw to Usal Rd? Did I miss something?

It's an adventure when it's muddy.. Other than that's it's just a nice dirt road..

I've been riding mostly dirt lately In process of reevaluating my adventure bike ride (XR650L). Something like a used DL650 or Versys... more fwy drone worthy, handle a fireroad, able to purchase for under $4k, 250ish miles range. Thoughts?

Sounds like I didnt miss anything on Usal and I enjoyed it for what it was. Nice scenic jaunt with a g friend!
