I laugh every time I read this thread. Thanks guys.. My condolences to the gal's family that passed away but the dark humor is, well, too funny to ignore.

No, I didn't chew on the coca leaves, did see quite a few workers chewing on them with brown teeth.

I spent a day at Lake Titicaca which was at 12,500 feet, took the train which went over 14k feet and wasn't quite what I was expecting (1st class meant you got a thick blanket for the cold but you were still sitting on the wooden benches.

I wanted to try out one of the 3 23k peaks around Arequipa but we didn't have time for that.

Great country to visit!

And the high end Hotels are serving Coca leaf tea as a courtesy to their guests, now.

Yeah, yeah yeah. You act like you are the only one that's ever been to SA and done a bunch of coke. I was in Cartagena, Colombia a few years ago. "When in Rome" I said. Holy crap, after a couple of days I had to flush the rest down the toilet. But those days were fun.
