just got a GoPro Hero Wide
I picked it up on Amazon for $167. Looks like they are available even cheaper, although I'm not sure the cheaper ones come with all these mounts (the suction cup, 4-5 quick-mount brackets, a 90 degree pivot mount).
I'm still trying to find the optimum mounting location, so far only using the suction cup.
Front fender: nifty unobstructed view, but being on the business end of the forks meant the camera felt/"heard" every little bump. The shakiness of the video may have been magnified by the total length of the suction cup mount + pivot piece (had to severely angle it forward in order to keep the headlight from hitting it when the forks compressed). I may try again with the regular [doublesided tape] mount.
Tail of the bike - forward-facing: Provided a great view *of my back and ass*, with the world zooming by on both sides of me. The exhaust sounded great, however.
Tail of the bike - rear-facing: Significantly more wind noise. I did this on Mines Rd last weekend, and the video was nearly unusable since it was so shaky. Of course, that's not exactly the smoothest road in the Bay Area...
Gas tank - forward facing: The most promising so far, although it has me wishing I'd gone for the clear windscreen rather than one that's tinted so dark. Wind noises not too bad, but the engine/exhaust noise is kinda neutered.
Gas tank - rider-facing: Interesting, I suppose, but better for a "supplementary" angle (for someone with two or more cameras). Again, as with the other rear-facing angle, there's a little more wind noise.
Here's something I threw together with examples of the last two. I'll say it before someone beats me to it: watching these videos drives home the point that I need to learn to blip the throttle. Don't judge too harshly

All in all, I don't regret the decision to buy this thing. It just has me thinking that I need to remove/replace that windscreen... As far as the vholdr, I've never even seen it, so I can't comment.
P.S. the bike's an '02 SV with a Two Bros exhaust.
Edit: any metalworkers in the South Bay wanna help me fab up a bracket to mount this thing under the headlight? No?
