Sneaking into the Ascot National.
In the Fall of 1975 we all hopped into Dave's van and drove from San Jose to Ascot Raceway Park in Gardena California, for the AMA Grand National Championship Race.
Our Friend Dave was a 'class C' novice and held a AMA Pro- License, which meant he could pay the access fee and enter the event at the race pit entrance with a mechanic. But there were 4 of us... So 2 of us, include me, hid in the back of the van, while Dave showed his license and facilitated the entry...

I had my brother's Super 8 camera and took this video of practice.... It's a good thing I 'filmed' practice because this was a night race
and the filming I did at night was terrible in the dark.

Note; It took about 35 years- with transfers from Super 8 film to VHS tape to DVD-R disc to Computer digital, to YouTube broadcast, to bring this video to YOU
