Vinyl Wrapping My Motorcycle...

There are some really informative YouTube videos out there on wrapping, but they may drag out and bore you. I also agree that precuts are asking for more of a headache... It's essential you get a good stretch in certain areas, which will cause more/less material left in other areas.

On my next wrap, I'm going to buy the more expensive 3M material and also a better heating source to help stretch the vinyl when doing the initial lay. Fingers crossed the cheap vinyl I have on it now pulls off easily and no adhesive marks are left behind.

youtube is a good source; they will bore you but very informative.

ive used 3M and wraping kit from amazon
didnt have anything to compare to but the 3M does feels pretty easy to work with just like most youtubers stated; and the wraping kit i bought from amazon really help.

That's a great start! The kit is VERY helpful! Posts some pictures of your wrap... I want to see what did.

Hmmm... wonder if you could vinyl wrap a plain white/grey/black generic background onto the bike then hydrodip the vinyl. The impermanence of vinyl with the longevity of hydrodip....

since you mention hydrodip...
do you know anyone that does hydrodip in the bay?

i've actually thought about getting my fairing hydropid instead of wrapping it.
lol

If i had the space I'd totally get into doing this. Seems like a fun way to avoid painting and do some interesting/fancy graphics, not to mention it doesn't look like the equipment is super expensive or difficult to learn.

The main issue with hydrodipping is that it's virtually impossible to get a consistent look across the fairings. Lining up graphics or pinstrips or whatever would be impossible.

The only thing I wrap is my sammich.

Mad
