Visors for any helmet?

Hanford is about... 45 minutes south of Fresno, 25 minutes west of Visalia or about 1.5 hours north of Bakerfield... take your pick.
Either way, its a very boring town where the cows outnumber the people 20:1. :laughing

Hanford...a place where the men are men, and the cows are nervous. :teeth

Actually, it's HJC.

Does this look like your helmet? If so, its a Cirus CS-10 helmet made by HJC. It sounds like you have the right part. Just be warned that you will have a tough time seeing at night with the mirror shield on.

isn't it sort of illegal too? I always thought it was.

No, HJC helmets are perfectly legal, but you're not allowed to wear reflective shields at night. :teeth

CVC 26708 deals with "Materials Obstructing or Reducing Drivers View" So if they reeeeeeeeallly wanted to they copuld cite you under this section.

Also regarding mirror or iridium visors. . . .they are disposable. I had a Arai Iridium shield which are the best on the market and it lasted a year and a couple of months. It was so scratched up that I couldn't see properly through it.

If I were you I would invest in a plain tinted visor. Either a dark smoke or a light smoke.

Just my $.02

I have an HJC helmet with a mirrored visor. It's very lightly tinted, so I don't bother changing it to clear when I ride in the dark. I've never had any visibility problems. The only think I don't like is that I have to wear sunglasses on sunny days, which I never had to do with a regular smoked shield. So far, I haven't had any problems with scratches, but I'm very careful with it. I alwways remove it and wash it with soap and water, never dry wipe it.

So... smoked visors provide more shield from the sun, but mirrored visors look better. Mk, got it. :thumbup
I just ordered a mirrored silver visor... so I just gotta make sure Im careful with it, and never towel dry it. Good ta' go! :cool

It's ok to towel dry it, just don't try to wipe bugs and stuff off of it without washing it first. That's gonna be tough for you because I've ridden in your neck of the woods and there are a LOT of bugs. :wow

You can also try a FOG CITY visor insert. They have a new one that is photocromatic: ie they change color to darker as the light gets greater! I'm going to get one with my new Soumy helmet
